We are looking for an Occupational Therapist that can deliver high quality care within a busy and acute inpatient environment. The post would be a static post within the Medical and Healthcare of the Older Person (HCOOP) team at the William Harvey Hospital in Ashford.

You will be working as a key member of the team supporting patients on the acute medical and HCOOP wards, offering assessment and treatment plans, alongside discharge planning.

REGISTERED NURSE - OUTPATIENTS

One Ashford Hospital, Kent has a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Outpatient Registered Nurse to join their friendly and dynamic team.

Reporting to the Outpatients Manager, the successful Registered Nurse will be required to provide the highest standard of individualised patient care as part of the clinical team, including:

o Ensuring the comfort and safety of patients during their visit/admission to the hospital.

EXPERIENCE

SKILLS

o Phlebotomy, cannulation, ECGs, and intravenous antibiotics would be an advantage.

Provide professional leadership, advice and guidance to junior nurses and healthcare assistants and foster collaborative partnerships with other disciplines. Communicate effectively with patients and their relatives, ensuring accurate and seamless information is conveyed and documented. Assist in the maintenance and monitoring of agreed standards, ensuring that any shortfall is brought to the attention of the line manager. Supervise members of staff in giving and maintaining high standards of care. Regularly take charge of an area in the absence of a more senior member of staff. Demonstrate leadership in supporting the patient pathway. Act at the patients advocate. Liaise with all members of the multi-disciplinary team Participate in taking an active role in planning effective, timely, and safe discharges/admissions. Be clinically competent in all areas of advanced practice relevant to the post. Be part of the paediatric rotation plan within the Trust. Assist in developing a research and evidence based approach to all practices linking with Trust-wide colleagues. Seek opportunities to create changes, which will enhance standards of care and practice. Help to facilitate the development of reflective practice. Participate in research projects within the ward/unit. Participate in the development and delivery of appropriate training materials / programmes to promote professional development. Provide training and support to new and junior staff in accordance with Trust policies and procedures. Act as mentor to students and / or NVQ assessor. Take part in regular audits of standards and practice. Take a lead role in monitoring the quality of care in your local area. Assist in the investigation and resolution of complaints in relation to patient care, reporting to the ward / unit manager. Monitor all aspects of clinical governance locally including clinical incident reporting. Regularly assess and act on the view of patients, relatives and staff about the standards of care experienced by recipients of the service. Participate in the Productive Department initiative. Remain cost aware and utilise equipment and resources in a cost effective way. Make recommendations where it is evident that appropriate changes may improve efficiency. Be aware of the sickness / absence control procedures and participate in any initiatives to reduce sickness absence. Undertake appraisals of band 2 and 3 staff. Participate in department meetings when required and join the exchange of information necessary to be involved in decision making processes at the relevant level. Keep abreast of relevant information which may affect your area of responsibility and act as a resource for other members of the team, acting as a link nurse where appropriate. Act as an innovator for the department to facilitate the provision of a flexible and responsive nursing service. To keep abreast of current professional issues and maintain the knowledge and skills necessary to perform your role effectively. Develop and maintain a professional portfolio. What will you be doing?



As a Senior Pharmacy Technician you will manage on a daily basis the Medicines Management Service at HMP Swaleside. You will manage the medicines administration, as well as the printing and coordination of the repeat prescription service. As well as this, you will monitor the performance of the medicines optimisation technicians when placed at HMP Swaleside and implement remedial action should an issue arise. You will assist with annual appraisals of the Pharmacy Technicians and Assistant team members, and mentor and train medicines optimisation staff using specialist knowledge and experience, to ensure all staff are working to a high standard.



What do you need?



NVQ level 3 Pharmacy Services or equivalent
Accredited Checking Technician Certificate
Registration with GPhC as a pharmacy technician
5 years’ experience of working in a pharmacy
Excellent organisational skills


Desirable



NVQ A1 assessors award
ACT Facilitator
Minimum of 4 years’ prison or hospital pharmacy experience
2 years mental health experience
Management experience

An exciting opportunity has arisen for Band 6 Senior Practitioners to join the Mental Health team at HMP Elmley and HMP Swaleside.



What will you be doing?



The post holder will be an expert practitioner, and a source of expert advice to the Primary Care team, Substance Misuse team, Prison staff, and Offenders. With overall responsibility for the mental and physical health and well-being of offenders in their care; operational management and day-to-day leadership of the In-reach team at HMP Elmley and HMP Swaleside.



· To provide specialist mental healthcare to offenders and to work as part of the Mental Health Team and wider mental health services.

· To deliver a range of specialist interventions at primary and secondary care level; to include

· Referral management, screening assessment, triage, and evidence-based interventions

· Care Planning and risk assessing

· One-to-one and group-work facilitation

· Managing a mixed and challenging caseload including people struggling with severe enduring mental illness, personality difficulties and neurodevelopmental problems.



Oxleas is seeking to appoint a suitably qualified RMN with experience in any of the following areas:



· Learning Disability

· Personality Disorder

· Substance Misuse/Dual Diagnosis



What do you need?



NMC Registration
Degree supplemented by diploma, specialist training
Minimum of 2 years’ post qualification as an RMN
Extensive clinical experience
Supervisory experience of junior staff and students
