Duties

5. To advise and provide support to the Head of Property to determine scheme briefs, budgets, timescales, and logistics.

6. To attend project team meetings and support/compile with any presentations to key stakeholders.

7. To support the change management processes to deliver space utilisation improvements within the Trust – working closely with a wide range of non-property stakeholders to ensure effective communication and smooth transition.

8. To act as the first point of contact for all requests for space and follow established process to produce feasibility investigations and options appraisals to make proposals for space requirements ensuring adherence to principals and standards and alignment with established Estates Strategy.

9. To interpret and make decisions across a wide range of space project issues (including capital schemes) including the design options available for space layouts taking into account Health and Safety legislation.

10.To work with the Estates and Facilities team to ensure accurate space records, including audits of space use and functional suitability for estates management statistics and ERIC.

11.To undertake as required site visits across the estate to identify the scope, the varying physical levels and conditions of the estate to contribute to the development of the project brief.

• Develops and implements mishap prevention, countermeasures, and hazard abatement procedures.
• Develops safety and health promotion programs consisting of safety awards, seasonal safety, employee workplace safety awareness, media, and social communication tools.
• Principal advisor to The Adjutant General.
• Responsible for developing, planning, organizing, directing, coordinating, executing, and evaluating SOH-related matters of mission execution.
• Identifies and manages personnel, safety contracting, and funding resources necessary to support program directives.
• manages and executes a complex SOEH program for a broad occupational field involving a wide variety of changing, high risk operations, environmental conditions, and hazardous materials.
• Develops and annually reviews the State SOH Plan to include all applicable Army SOH functional areas.
• Develops State safety policy and Standard Operating Procedures for SOH programs.
• Manages, executes, monitors and evaluates installation SOH functional Safety and Occupational Health Programs for effective implementation.
• Develops the State SOH Plan to include applicability of fourteen Army SOH functional areas.
• Development of applicable local policy and procedures for State SOH programs.
• Reviews ASOHMS Implementation strategy, Explosives Safety Site Plan submissions, and risk assessments, and deviations to safety standards.
• Reviews workplace safety hazard tracking logs, NGB safety assessment data, and unit SOPs to ensure safety and Risk Management are integrated and controls are established for identified hazards.
• Plans, assigns, and evaluates work of subordinates.
• Schedules and ensures timely completion of qualification training for subordinate safety employees.
• Reviews and recommends expenses comparable to within-grade increases, overtime, and employee travel.
• Ensures the regular inspection of facilities, workplaces, operations, explosives storage, and training ranges are conducted by qualified safety professionals.
• Conducts annual assessments of ground safety programs, radiation and laser safety, range safety, explosive safety, and aviation safety programs.
• Establishes, trains, and advises personnel on the integration of Risk Management processes and assist leaders in implementation of installation SOH programs.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Starting at $103,409 Per Year (GS 13)

We are recruiting a Medical Devices Project Manager, who will be instrumental in the acquisition of medical technology across the Trust.

You will be pivotal to our ability to provide safe care to patients, by ensuring that our medical equipment is safe, appropriate, innovative, sustainable and always available.

You should have a degree in a relevant clinical, scientific or technical subject, with experience in the management of medical devices. Project management qualifications are not required.

This role is particularly suitable for recent graduates from the Scientist Training Programme. We will also consider applicants with medical, nursing and AHP backgrounds.

Your role will be to manage the acquisition of medical equipment, which involves working with clinicians of all levels to ensure needs are met, and with procurement, finance and estates teams to deliver solutions and minimise risk.

You must be prepared to undertakeliterature reviewsand laboratory evaluations to gain an in-depth understanding of the benefits and risks of the technology being considered, as well as to identify the best option from competing manufacturers.

You will get to work with, and gain the trust of, hundreds of different people across the organisation. Excellent negotiation and influencing skills will help you, both when working with colleagues and getting good deals from suppliers.

The applicant will be based at the St George’s Hospital main campus in London, with other members of the Medical Devices Project Management team.
