Preceptorship Period Post-Training We think it is important that our trainees get continued time and space to learn their craft and have the time to be able to reflect on their cases and build their clinical confidence. After the training is complete, we will continue to support you to consolidate your learning. Following successful completion of the course, all of our practitioners have built in CPD per annum, additional regular CPD sessions, free access to the Bespoke CPD package where they can access upcoming and previous specialised CBT training from global leading academics and clinicians. Willingness to travel, which may include overnight stays on occasion, as and when required. Desirable Requirements: Evidence of foundation level or sustained CPD in CBT. The medicine here is entirely unique, around 75% of inpatients are Indigenous - many from remote communities. Co-morbidities and social conditions can be complex and effective communication is essential. The catchment area is over a million square kilometres with a strong focus on Indigenous and remote health.

Alice Springs Hospital is a 183 bed teaching hospital with strong links to Tennant Creek Hospital, Royal Darwin Hospital, Royal Adelaide Hospital and Flinders Medical Centre with many visiting specialists from these hospitals.
The Department of Medicine staff consists of a mix of General Physicians and other Specialists, many with dual training. We have local cardiology, endocrinology, rheumatology, infectious diseases, palliative care, oncology, alcohol and other drugs, a large renal unit, gastroenterology and many regular visiting specialists. There is on site general surgery, orthopaedics, obstetrics, gynaecology, psychiatry, paediatrics, day procedures unit and an 11 bed ICU. There are four General Medical teams, a busy Outpatient Department and we provide outreach clinics to some of the most remote parts of Australia.

Alice Springs is the regional hub of Central Australia with an urban population of approximately 30,000 people. It is multicultural with well-established schools and amenities. Monash Health has four Advanced Trainee positions in Rehabilitation Medicine (8 x 6 month placements): two are at Casey Hospital, one at Kingston Centre, and one in the Monash at Home - rehab program, Cranbourne working across both acute hospital and the patients home in this inpatient bed-substitution program.

We can provide experience in General Rehabilitation, Orthopaedic Rehabilitation, Stroke/Neurological Rehabilitation, Management involved with botulinum toxin and intrathecal pumps and CRC Assessments. We take your development seriously, encouraging you to attend lectures and seminars to enhance your professional and personal growth. We can tailor a training program to suit your needs.
