Arden and GEM CSU provides support for a range of customers including NHSE, ICBs, and health providers.

We are looking for a talented, motivated and ambitious Senior IFR Nurse to join our friendly and innovative team.

This post will support the IFR teams to ensure processes are delivered in line with national and local priorities. Providing clinical expertise, support and advice in reviewing and making decisions regarding the funding of IFR’s and Prior Approvals against Clinical Commissioning Policies and national guidance.

The ideal candidate will have experience of:

Working within core office hours, the post will be based in one of our office sites, however, the post holder may be expected to undertake local, regional and national travel as the role requires to meet the needs of the service.

The post holder will also work across the Clinical Services Directorate to provide clinical advice and expertise to drive and support service developments across the CSU.

The post holder will work as part of the IFR teams and will be responsible for providing a high level of clinical expertise, support and advice to Integrated Care Boards (ICBs) in reviewing and making decisions regarding funding of IFRs, Prior Approvals and complex funding requests where applicable.

The post holder will work with Medicines Management teams and Public Health to clinically review funding requests to support the ICBs in their decision –making processes, including interpretation of NICE guidance or providing a clinical understanding of IFR and ICB clinical commissioning.

The post holder will provide both internal and external support for policy review and development. Acting as a key link to ensure that appropriate governance arrangements are followed.

Across the Clinical Services Directorate, the post holder will be responsible for providing a high level of expertise to help drive and support a variety of projects and audits, which will contribute to securing improvements to health and care services and clinical pathways.

The post holder will be required to participate in relevant internal and external working groups/projects, services and initiatives to provide highly complex project, information, analytical advice and/or subject matter expertise as required.
