We have recently refurbished our fluoroscopy room into an additional digital x-ray room. We have an exciting opportunity to recruit 1 x 12 Months Fixed Term radiographer, with a passion for imaging, to expand our experienced team. With significant experience in plain film and fluoroscopy is essential and this post will give you the opportunity to build on and extend your clinical expertise in MSK imaging.

The successful applicant be required to work extended weekdays and weekends on a rolling rota as well as on-call duties.

MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Clinical
• Regularly undertake a wide range of radiographic examinations including plain film, fluoroscopy and CT ensuring high standards of technique and patient care.
• Work within and adhere to departmental and Trust policies and procedures and to ensure that these are adhered to by more junior staff.
• Participate in the Imaging On-Call rota, extended working day system and weekend duties.
• Perform intravenous injections of contrast media as directed by the Radiologists and with the appropriate qualification, as required.
• To liaise with other areas of the Trust to ensure the best patient care by having a flexible approach to use of staff and equipment.
• To communicate and liaise with all members Trust staff including the multidisciplinary team and to deliver sensitive information to patients and carers where there may be barriers to communication, ensuring that patients understand the procedure and receive appropriate reassurance.
• To record data concerning the patients’ examination, in line with IRMER 2017 legislation and factors relating to the patients’ clinical condition,
• Maintain a professional attitude for the dignity and well-being of the patient and ensuring confidentiality at all times.
• To organise and prioritise workload as required, in a specialized modality / departmental area considering the patients’ clinical condition and the imaging request, in a safe and efficient manner.
• Maintain the highest professional standards and good public image both verbally and visually.
• Actively assist in the clinical education/training of trainee assistant practitioners, radiographic assistants and radiography students, as required.
• Participate in research, technical developments and introduce new techniques and instruct staff on the same under the direction of the Team Lead Radiographer and with the agreement of the relevant medical staff.

• Using highly complex equipment such as CT simulators and MR scanners, including the administration of contrast, to provide accurate radiotherapy planning scans, in order to plan radiotherapy treatment for a diverse range of patients
• Providing accurate written instructions of treatment set-up to ensure accurate treatment reproducibility ensuring that radiotherapy may be delivered accurately and reproducibly and in accordance with the quality system.
• Using highly complex equipment and software for virtual simulation of radiotherapy treatments in order to produce accurate treatment plans in accordance with the quality system.
• Electronic dispatch of pre-treatment images to relevant sections of the radiotherapy and treatment planning departments
• Cannulation of patients for IV contrast and competence for relevant PGD for contrast media and emergency drugs for the management of side effects in accordance with trust policies
• Monitor and assess patient’s condition and liaise with the multidisciplinary team to ensure appropriate care, referral, information and support is offered to all patients. Administer appropriate drug prescriptions as prescribed by clinicians.

An opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic, motivated, and dynamic Senior Therapy Radiographer (Band 6) to join the team at our cancer centre in Macclesfield. The Macclesfield unit is the first Christie satellite centre with radiotherapy and chemotherapy departments and is therefore able to offer concurrent chemo-radiotherapy treatments. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

The Diagnostic Cross sectional Imaging service provides an essential service to the Trust , including whole body and high quality oncology imaging , Mammography including large field and interventional procedures, Ultrasound as well as general X-Ray , IR , fluoroscopy and theatres.

We are currently inviting applications from enthusiastic cross sectional trained radiographers for a band 7 diagnostic radiographer post on the Chelsea site. Applicants will preferably have significant post graduate experience and post and cross sectional specific experience. Post graduate CT / MRI academic qualifications are desirable. The successful candidate should be an innovative, highly motivated radiographer with good communication skills ,who is keen to contribute positively to the expanding cross sectional service.

The post holder will be expected to be flexible in their approach as the department will operate between 8am to 8 pm Monday to Friday and weekends 8-5.15pm, depending on the modality rota.

The post holder will work as part of cross sectional team liaising with Radiologists and Clinicians in charge of a patient. They will work as part of the multi-disciplinary team liaising with clinical nurse specialists, ward staff and other departmental staff. They will also liaise with internal and external agencies.

It is essential that the post holder will have significant post graduate experience in MRI and CT . This post requires good analytical, organisational, communication and computer skills. The key working relationships will be with other MRI & CT radiographers, cross sectional superintendents on both Chelsea & Sutton sites, radiology clerical and admin staff, clinical scientists, consultant radiologists and clinical referrers.

Maintain a high standard of patient care and ensure that all precautions are taken to prevent the occurrence of accidents to patients, visitors and other members of staff. Comply with all ionising radiation regulations and observe the local rules for radiation protection. Act as an operator under the Ionising Radiation (Medical Exposure) Regulations 2017 as defined in Department protocols. Job Title: Targeted Lung Health Check (TLHC) CT Senior Radiographer Main Place of Work: Work will be based at several sites within a nominated key geographical region where the TLHC services operate. Either Manchester, Greater Manchester or Liverpool. This role is not considered a mobile role due to no requirement for travel outside the nominated region. Responsible to: TLHC Operations Manager/CT and PET/CT Manager (as allocated on employment) Accountable to: Chief Executive, Cobalt Health Line management There is no line management responsibility associated with this post. However there is an expectation that this senior position will supervise radiographers, students and other junior staff members working as part of their team at nominated sites. Job Purpose: Provide professional, caring, high quality CT scanning services as part of the TLHC programme whilst maintaining a high level of professionalism and technical standard of work, complying with relevant Codes of Practice and radiographic technique. Responsible for the daily operations and delivery of TLHC services at nominated key locations within a region supporting the TLHC operations manager and director of clinical operations. To ensure the privacy, comfort and safety of all patients who attend the TLHC services in various locations where CT mobile services operate. Key Relationships Cobalt staff team, mobile site staff, logistics, support engineers and patients Key areas of responsibility will include: Operational Duties At all times to maintain a positive partnership with NHS Hospitals and TLHC programme teams on behalf of Cobalt and ensure continuity of TLHC services in various locations in the North West region of UK in line with Charity values. Providing physical and emotional support to patients throughout their attendance. Conduct consent and screening safety checks with patients prior to examination to ensure their suitability for imaging examinations or procedures. Data entry using radiology information systems (RIS), data sharing and checking image transfer is completed using CIMAR and Picture Archive (PACs), Image Exchange Portal (IEP) and other associated information systems ensuring accurate, legible, comprehensive medical records are maintained. Responsible for the Quality Assurance checks on ionising radiation equipment, in accordance with the departmental QA programme and report any deviation from expected results to a line manager. Undertake action to rectify the deviation as appropriate and document the action taken in the required log. Ensure the safe use and maintenance of highly specialist imaging equipment, to adhere to all local CT safety procedure and report all equipment faults in accordance with the fault reporting process and liaise with line managers to ensure timely rectification or removal of equipment from service if necessary. Ensure a clean, safe and appropriate environment that facilitates the prevention and control of infections in compliance with regulatory requirements. Specific Duties Have highly specialist knowledge of all TLHC CT specific procedures and the development of low dose imaging protocols and maintenance of scanning databases. Support the clinical department managers with the development of and implementation of workflow/processes improvements in their area within the TLHC services. Participate in the review of departmental clinical policies, procedures, processes and pathways, liaising with line managers to develop and implement improvement. Work as an operator in accordance with the CT local rules, IRMER procedures and and justify the CT scanning protocol in accordance with the NHSE TLHC standard CT scan protocol and challenge practice if the protocol deviates. Manage clinical audits in their area of work, collate data and generate KPI reports with accuracy and attention to detail. Liaison with the Infection Control Lead to monitor and maintain environmental and patient equipment cleanliness and complete necessary checklists in accordance with the infection prevention and control program. Responsibility for stock checking consumables and ensuring correct levels are maintained, including items on the resuscitation trolley/bag and maintaining accurate monthly records. To support the service during external visits by Trust or industry stakeholders including CQC and QSI inspectors. Manage local clinical team meetings and when requested provide update reports in area of work. Be the responsible radiation protections supervisor (RPS) in their area of work, and support/provide guidance to junior staff members.(Separate JD) Supervise clinical induction, IRMER safety education and applications training to personnel, including trainees, students, agency or temporary workers. The imaging department at Whipps Cross Hospital are looking to appoint a band 6 senior radiographer to join the team as soon as possible. We are looking for an enthusiastic and dynamic individual who is excited about providing high quality patient care within a close-knit and supportive team environment.

The posts will give you the opportunity to build on and consolidate your clinical experience in all areas of General Imaging including Interventional Radiology, MRI, CT, A&E, GP and In-patient X-Ray, Fluoroscopy and Theatres.

The aim of this role is to provide high quality, effective Imaging services to a wide range of services which are supported by Imaging including General and A&E x-ray, theatres, fluoroscopy, interventional radiology and CT. There is also a possibility of rotation to MRI. The post holder will work closely with Radiographers, students and clinical staff of all grades to provide safe, prompt and effective imaging of patients.

Patients may be unconscious, un-cooperative, incapacitated, incompetent or with physical or mental disabilities. Some may exhibit anti-social or threatening behaviour. It is necessary to provide empathy and emotional support to the bereaved, terminally ill injured and traumatised.

The service operates 24 hours a day 365 days per year.
