It is used creatively to enhance clinical practice with a fully integrated Omnicell medicines management system that seamlessly interfaces EPMA with pharmacy dispensing, stock control, clinical area automated medicines cabinetry (Omnicells) and further robotics within the Pharmacy department.

As a specialist rotational clinical pharmacist, you will work closely with the multidisciplinary team and attend Consultant-led ward rounds to inform and influence prescribing decisions. You will be able to do this across a range of clinical areas including our Emergency Department and Acute Assessment Unit. Other areas include General Medicine, Stroke, Care of Older People, General Surgery, Orthopaedics, Mental Health, Oncology, Haematology and Hospice care.

You will be supported to complete your foundation training as a pharmacist and develop your specialist skills in a range of clinical areas. This will help prepare you for future advanced-level practice. We will also provide training to support your leadership and management skills. Further to this there are also many other training opportunities with paid study leave available.

The Pharmacy Team provide a core weekday service with some weekend and on-call duties which post-holders may form part of. On-call pharmacist duties are undertaken from home and calls are first screened via the Trust Clinical Site Management Team to ensure they are appropriate. All Pharmacists are supplied with their own Trust laptop at induction. Its possible to dispense urgent medication via your laptop from home through the robots out of hours shute if required.

Qualified Pharmacy Technicians: Salary scale band 4: £26,530-£29,114

The following are essential: BTEC Level 3 Diploma in the Principles and Practice for Pharmacy Technicians or L4 Certificate of Higher Education in Pharmacy Technician Practice.You must be registered with the General Pharmaceutical Council(GPhC) as a Pharmacy Technician in the UK.

You will work on rotation with our Dispensary, Mental Health and Oncology/Aseptic teams. You will be a source of advice and information to patients and ward staff and a support to student technicians and dispensing assistants.



Qualified Dispensers: Salary scale band 3: £24,071-£25,674

The following are essential: L2 certificate in Dispensing and Pharmacy Assistant skills, awarded by a GPhC approved provider.You must have evidence of your L2 certificate to qualify for interview.

You will work with the Dispensary team, dispensing outpatient, inpatient and discharge prescriptions, along with topping up the ward stock if required. You will assist in providing emergency bags and kits. You will serve both patients, relatives and staff at our pharmacy reception and receive calls on the telephone.



Excellent practical problem solving and prioritisation skills, and an ability to deal with all types of people are essential.

As well as a comprehensive in-house induction programme, you will be supported by attending a Trust induction program.

Shifts will be 7.5hrs between the hours of 8.30am and 5pm.

Flexibility with shift patterns may be required to suit the changing needs of the service.

The Isle of Wight NHS Trust is delighted to be able to offer a Registered Nurse Degree Apprenticeship in two fields of nursing namely Adult and Child and Young persons.

This opportunity is in collaboration with the Open University. Successful applicants will be given the opportunity to become caring, compassionate professionals who uphold the values of the Isle of Wight NHS Trust and the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC) standards of education.

Through undertaking a variety of clinical placements, combined with a diverse academic programme, our apprentice nurses will deliver skilled, evidence-based care in partnership with patients, families and communities.

Registered Nurse Degree Apprenticeships will be available across our Acute Trust, starting at the beginning of February 2025. The duration of the course is 3 years and is a balance of theory and practice, delivered through a combination of practice-based and distance learning modules.

Upon successful completion of the programme, the Registered Nurse Degree Apprentice will become a Registered Nurse, accountable to the Nursing and Midwifery Council and Code (NMC). They will be equipped with the knowledge, understanding, skills, attitudes and behaviours relevant to employment as a Registered Nurse.

A substantive Registered Nurse post within our Acute trust will be offered upon successful completion of the apprenticeship programme.

Key Areas/Tasks
• Deliver high quality, compassionate care under the direction of a registered nurse (or other registered care professional dependent on setting) with a focus on promoting health and independence
