An exciting opportunity has arisen on our Female Respiratory ward. We are seeking to recruit dynamic, motivated and professional Junior sister/charge nurse. You must be keen to learn and will be supported and developed to ensure that you have the skills and competencies to look after our most unwell level 2 patients. You will also be supported to develop your own management style, working alongside the ward manager.

The successful candidate must have good communication and organisational skills. A previous teaching/mentorship course. A background in Respiratory medicine is desirable but not essential. All Band 6 nurses are required to participate in internal rotation to ensure senior leadership over the 24 hour period.

Endoscopy Decontamination Technician

An opportunity has arisen within the Endoscopy Unit for a Decontamination Technician.
The Department is operational from 7am – 7pm over a 6 day shift system. Your typical hours will be one week of earlies and one week of lates and the successful applicant will need to be able to work flexible shifts covering these hours. There will also be the occasional 8pm finish when on late shift. In line with Trust policy the department aims to become a 7 day service, it is likely that operational hours will be reviewed to reflect this.

The Department runs an on-call service and the technician would be required to participate fully in the out of hours on-call rota (contracted to one week in every four).

The role involves efficiently providing the correct handling, cleaning, decontamination maintenance and security of flexible endoscopes and related equipment.
No previous experience is required for this role as on ongoing training programme is in operation.
Decontamination Technicians are given the opportunity to gain experience in Sterile Services once fully trained.

The duties of the post include the physical and psychiatric assessment and treatment of patients suffering from severe and enduring mental disorders who are admitted to Hazel Ward. The post-holder is required to review new patients within 72 hours of admission. Regular clinical supervision will be provided weekly by the Consultant.

The post-holder will work with a medical team consisting of a Consultant Psychiatrist, ward junior doctor and foundation trainee. Pharmacist Manager - Medicine Optimisation & Clinical Lead for Surgery & Women's

You will work closely with the Clinical Director of Pharmacy, Associate Director of Pharmacy (Clinical Services & Workforce), Associate Director of Pharmacy (Operations & Governance) and the Chief Pharmacy Technician to develop and implement the strategy for the future of our pharmacy services.

Along with the Pharmacist Manager – Medicines Optimisation / Clinical Lead for Medicine and the Pharmacist Manager – Medicines Optimisation / Clinical Lead for Care of Older People & Frailty, you will be responsible for the development, delivery and evaluation of Medicines Optimisation and Clinical Pharmacy Services across all divisions within the organisation.

You will also be responsible for ensuring there is adequate clinical supervision and line management support for the principal, specialist, rotational and foundation pharmacists working within the clinical service.

We are looking for a highly motivated individual who shows a commitment to delivering excellence and working with us to make MKUH pharmacy a great place to work.

Our standard working hours consist of four long days (8 am to 6.30 pm) per week; in addition you will be required to work Saturdays, Sundays, and Bank Holidays on a rota basis. After a period of induction and training, you will contribute to the two-tier pharmacy out-of-hours service.

This role is crucial to the delivery, development, and evaluation of pharmaceutical services across the hospital and plays a key role in helping divisions optimise medicines use within available resources.
