There is a opportunity for a permanent post and a 12month fixed term post within this application.

Based at the Withington site, you will be a valued member of the Haematology and TYA quality team and work alongside one other Data Coordinator. Your role will involve the collation, analysis and reporting of data relating to treatment and outcome of patients within the haematology department.

This post will work closely with and be supported by the Quality Manager, Quality Officer and Directorate Lead Nurse and will work alongside one other Data Coordinator.

We are looking for a self-motivated, proactive individual who is able to work well independently but also as part of a team. You must have good attention to detail, numerical and analytical skills as you must ensure the completeness, accuracy and consistency of the data so that it meets the standards of quality expected for reporting to national and local commissioners and for use in national and international audit and research.

You must be educated to degree level with a computing qualification and be able to demonstrate excellent IT skills and a high level of competency in in all Microsoft packages, especially Excel. Although not essential, a science, mathematical or statistical related degree would be advantageous.

If you are educated to a degree level with a computing qualification and have experience in working within clinical audit, information systems and hospital data then you are the right person to consider joining the quality team within the Haematology and TYA directorate.

The Christie haematology service acts as a tertiary referral centre for the management of patients with haematological malignancies and bone marrow failure. Inpatient haematology and transplant services for both adults and Teenage and Young Adult (TYA) patients are provided by the 31 bedded Palatine Treatment Ward, and the 4 bedded Withington Ward. Outpatient haematology services are provided by the Haematology and Transplant Day Unit (HTDU) and the ambulatory care facility. The Christie haematology service has grown extensively over the past few years with the development of new treatments and CART. Services are now delivered at 2 other trusts with plans to expand services closer to home further.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
• Ensure the efficient and accurate collection of clinical data relating to patients within the defined haematology speciality.
• Ensure the completeness, accuracy and consistency of the data so that it meets the standards of quality expected for reporting to national and local commissioners and for use in national and international audit and research.
• Perform statistical analysis of transplant data to assess transplant outcomes, including overall survival and non-relapse mortality.
• Manage the reporting of transplantation outcomes and submit to the European Bone Marrow Transplant (EBMT) registry.
• Contribute to the design of protocols, which define what and when data is to be collected.
• Produce reports for the Haematology Directorate and subspecialty meetings.
• Work with staff at the Christie to ensure the accurate collection of data and ways to improve collection in the future. Communicate data quality issues to team.
• Identify clinical data that can be collected electronically from other systems in the hospital.
• Participate with in-house, external and independent audits providing requested information/reports.
• Request and obtain patient data from outside hospitals and institutions.
• Search for and retrieve results and data from patient health records, laboratory systems and hospital computerised patient administration system.
• General clerical and office management duties within the office including the maintenance of an efficient filing system.
• Work with clinicians, managers and administration staff to review working practices, identify new improved ways of working and find solutions to problems
• Any other duties as appropriate to the role and grade will be agreed between the post holder and line manager.



Education/Training/Communication/Development:-
• Attend appropriate training and education sessions at the request of manager/team leader.
• Contribute to unit/team meetings and newsletters to promote staff knowledge of the databases.

You will perform immunohistochemistry and undertake neoplastic cell content assessment on tumour tissues prior to Genomics testing, and participate in the Tissue-i EQA scheme

Ensure the highest scientific standards are maintained and to contribute to the improvement of technical and scientific standards within the department.

Demonstrate extensive use of personal judgement based on advanced experience and knowledge to ensure correct decisions are made by Biomedical Scientists and support staff on all aspects of specimen processing, microscopy and test interpretation that may directly affect patient care and management.

We are looking for an enthusiastic, compassionate, and highly motivated Occupational Therapy Assistant to join our inpatient Occupational Therapy Team. The post is based at The Christie NHS Foundation Trust in South Manchester.

This full-time position lends opportunities to work with adult surgical, clinical and medical oncology patients

The Occupational Therapy Assistant will work as part of the Rehabilitation Unit team. They will provide planned care to patients undergoing cancer treatment, symptom control, palliative care and rehabilitation and be able to take appropriate action to achieve the planned aims.

Alongside clinical duties, the post-holder will also be responsible for carrying out regular stock check, ordering of equipment and supporting the Occupational Therapy Team with onward referrals. They will work alongside other staff members and disciplines to ensure the Rehabilitation Unit remains a safe patient environment.

The post-holder will be encouraged to work as part of a multidisciplinary team, utilising excellent interpersonal skills within the inpatient setting and with the relevant community services to ensure a seamless transfer of care for our patients.

We are a friendly and supportive team and aim to give our junior staff members a good grounding in oncology and palliative care. The department puts emphasis on staff health and well-being, and individuals are invited to participate in regular supervision and debrief sessions to support them in their role.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES



CLINICAL
1. To carry a caseload of patients under the supervision – direct and indirect – of a registered therapist.
2. To complete Occupational Therapy assessments to identify deficits, agree treatment goals and formulate individualised treatment plans under the guidance of registered therapists as required
3. To support with departmental administrative tasks as required e.g. answering telephone, completing community referrals; and ordering adaptive equipment, as prescribed by the Occupational Therapy team.

The Integrated Procedures Unit (IPU) is a nurse-led, fast-paced and dynamic service. The unit consists of a procedure team, interventional radiology unit, ultrasound room, surgical dressings clinic, outpatients clinic, day of surgery admissions unit, an operating theatre and second stage recovery bays. The Day of Surgery Admissions unit is a small, purpose-built Unit delivering pre-operative care to patients undergoing general anaesthetic.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

The role is to support the sleep service in its delivery of a high-quality service both in the main sleep service and at our Community Diagnostic Centre based at Withington Community Hospital.

The Sleep Service is a modern dynamic unit servicing a large area of the North West. It has a CPAP user base of over 8,000 patients and provides a wide range of services including diagnosis and treatment of non-respiratory sleep disorders. It is actively involved in the teaching of students on the PTP and STP courses at Manchester Metropolitan University.



The position will involve:

Performing, analysing and reporting on in-patient and outpatient sleep studies (including respiratory polygraphy, full video polysomnography, multiple sleep latency testing, maintenance of wakefulness testing and actigraphy).

Initiating treatment with CPAP and the follow-up of these patients using agreed protocols in both face-to-face and telephone clinics.

Teaching, training and mentoring of students and junior staff.

The service encourages and supports flexible working but the successful applicant will be expected to cover evening shifts on a rotating roster.

The successful applicant will also be expected to travel to work at either Trafford General Hospital, or the Community Diagnostic Centre based at Withington Community Hospital (WTWA) as service demands require.

Role profile

Ward 4 is an acute medical Oncology ward, which specialises in caring for patients with Altered Airways, based within one of the leading cancer centres in Europe. We are a 25 bedded ward, which is comprised of open bays and side rooms. We care for a variety of different disease groups. This provides an array of exposure, broadens knowledge, and expertise within the field of oncology. We treat patients with a full range of diagnostic, inpatient, and treatment needs. Alongside specialising in Altered Airways, we administer chemotherapy regimens, we also support patients during their treatment with the symptoms and side effects of treatment. We care for palliative patients providing symptom control and also end-of-life care.



As a Staff Nurse you will be responsible for meeting the medical, physical and emotional needs of our patients; ensuring effective communication is practiced with patients and their families at all times.

We ensure that you are prepared to start your career with us by offering you an 8-week supernumerary period where you are closely supported by a clinical practice facilitator and you will also have a designated sister/charge nurse alongside for your added guidance as we value your wellbeing and progression. This period enables you to have the knowledge and skill to deliver exceptional care that every patient deserves.

Finance Master Data Specialist
£24,000 to £34,800 plus great benefits (Work Level 6B)
Manchester city centre, in this role you'll work in a hybrid way, splitting your time between home and coming into our Manchester office at least once a week (find out more about our hybrid working policy at colleagues.coop.co.uk/hybrid-working-policy).

We're looking for a Finance Master Data Specialist to join a brand-new team within our wider Co-op Business Services (CBS) organisation. CBS is made up of a number of diverse teams dedicated to delivering high-quality, reliable and cost-effective business services across our Co-op. You'll play a key role in helping CBS to support and realise our group vision of 'co-operating to build more value for member-owners everyday'.

As a Finance Master Data Specialist, you'll support in optimising our financial master data processes. We'll look to you to help us make better decisions and improve our overall financial performance. You'll support in the development and completion of the roadmap for financial master data, including the design and implementation of SAP Data Dimensions and hierarchies. This is an exciting time to join us, as we look to transform our finance systems and implement SAP S4 HANA.

What you'll do
- Drive the implementation of a standardised master data model across Co-op for finance master data
- Collaborate with internal partners, from various finance teams, to make sure the data model meets their needs and facilitates efficient financial processing in SAP systems
- Make sure the timely processing of all work received into the department
- Challenge and action any master data set-up and amendment requests, after following the verification process
- Assist in the production and review of process documentation and
- Train new and existing team members, providing support and guidance when needed
- Establish a clear governance framework for managing financial master data on an ongoing basis, implement controls and ensure data quality and compliance
- Proactively look for ways to continuously improve, focusing on customer service and colleague experience

This role would suit people who have
- Experience maintaining and mastering SAP finance data
- Experience working with SAP ECC or SAP S4 HANA
- Experience of general ledger, cost centre and profit centre
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to discuss any potential challenges with the relevant colleagues
- Brilliant analytical skills with a keen attention to detail
- Great computer skills with a proficiency in Microsoft Office programmes and the ability to easily pick up new systems
