This role is part of the Business Analysis and Reporting team, which is undergoing transformation to integrate new technologies, including Microsoft Power BI, into its reporting and analysis processes. 6. To co-ordinate and support designated projects in relation to performance improvement, national and/or contractual requirements. Following a period of latency, an exciting opportunity has arisen for a Trainer to join the ePMA implementation team. The Trust already has extensive experience of the EMIS Ascribe WebPharmacy system including eMM within the pharmacy service and will be implementing the EMIS solution for ePMA.

As a Trainer joining the ePMA project implementation team, you will work closely with key stakeholders across the organisation including clinical teams and colleagues within the pharmacy team, to ensure that teams understand the use of the ePMA system and any concerns and issues are raised to the project team.

You should have knowledge or experience of delivering training particularly in a health care environment and have knowledge and experience of health care systems and processes.

We are looking for a motivated, adaptable and personable Trainer with excellent communication skills and a passion for supporting clinical teams to adopt new technologies. Previous experience with Clinician or ePMA systems is desirable but not essential, but you should be able to demonstrate excellent digital skills.

You will work closely with the ePMA pharmacist using expert knowledge and experience to support the clinical teams training and use of the electronic Prescribing and Medicines Administration (ePMA) system. You will be actively involved in the delivery of training to pharmacy, ward and wider Trust staff in the use of the ePMA system and support the development of policies, procedures and training packages as well as helping staff understand the capabilities and benefits of the system in their localised setting.You will support the continued improvement of training materials to align to any system changes or training feedback throughout the project. Clinical Duties
• Pharmacy reception duties including receiving prescriptions from out-patients, ward staff and other clients, taking payment for prescriptions, identifying, resolving or referring any queries at the point of reception and forwarding prescriptions to the correct location for dispensing.
• Dispense in-patient, out-patient, and leave/discharge prescriptions and clinical trial materials. Process prescriptions using the pharmacy IT system; select, compile, package and label and record prescription items according to departmental procedure.
• Extemporaneously prepared pharmaceutical products, e.g. creams, suspensions etc. according to departmental procedure.
• Final check clinically screened prescriptions and orders prepared by other pharmacy staff, before release to the patient, ward or unit.
• Maintain controlled drug register, making entries, checking and reconciling stock as appropriate.
• Assess suitability of pharmaceutical products for return to stock. Return items using the pharmacy IT system, or dispose of according to departmental procedure.
• Create, check and release requisitions and orders for pharmaceutical products, medical gases and sundry products as required.
• Assist with order checking, unpacking and storage of stock, ensuring appropriate stock rotation.
• Process ward stock orders using the pharmacy IT system, pick and package orders for delivery
• Take an active role in the pharmacy team and provide support to less experienced staff.
• Seek advice from senior pharmacy colleagues as appropriate in order to provide advice to clinicians
• Assist the Medicines Management Technicians with ordering individual inpatient items as required.
• Take part in weekend, bank holiday, early and late working rotas, as required.
• Ensure compliance with relevant legislation relating to the use of medicines, including the Medicines Act, Misuse of Drugs Act, Human Medicines Regulations etc.
• Work independently at ward level undertaking medicines management ward duties following relevant policies and procedures. Examples of medicines management ward duties include; medicines reconciliation, review patient own drugs for suitability for re-use and ensuring drug monitoring and physical health monitoring standards are complied with.
• Ensure that patient safety and service delivery are maintained in the event of failure of the electronic prescribing system and facilitate system recovery. This will involve supporting the establishment of robust business continuity plans for potential ePMA downtime.

Communication
• Liaise with and support the ePMA Pharmacist in resolving professional and medicines management issues arising during implementation and maintenance of the ePMA system, including configuration changes, medicines templates etc. Support system administration of the ePMA system ensuring it is working as expected across the organisation.
• Support relevant clinical teams as roll out of ePMA progresses. Support staff who are resistant to system changes and engage them in the benefits of an electronic system to their job role. Help them understand the capabilities of the system.
• Contribute to project update reports on progress, risks, successes and any issues arising from the programme. This will involve communicating sensitive information and using a high level of judgement and analysis of presenting facts and situations.
• Respond effectively to the routine and straightforward medicines information needs of patients, carers, prescribers, nurses and other members of the healthcare team, whilst recognising own limitations
• Ensure information is provided in a timely manner, to the appropriate individual, in accordance with the degree of urgency of the request or issue identified.
• Co-ordinate plan and delivery specialist training to ward based and community based teams, checking understanding and adapting training methods as necessary. Be able to present information in a suitable format (e.g. written or verbal) and style to suit the target audience. Overcome barriers to effective communication.

Analytical Skills
• Act as a subject matter of expert (SME) and advocate for ePMA to all users across the Trust.
• Participate in complex process mapping and use professional experience and knowledge of medicines management standards to design clinical practice in all aspects of medicines management to inform configuration of the software and ways of working.
• Analyse, monitor and review the team’s training approach ensuring that any lessons learned are incorporated into future training plans.
• Contribute to the design and implementation of system audits, service development initiatives and statistical and financial drug transactions. To participate in pharmacy service audits, both local and national, and to provide accurate information.
• Identify items outside of the Trust Formulary and Prescribing Guidelines and ensure that this is reflected in the ePMA system.

Planning and Organisation
• Contribute to the planning and implementation of developments for ePMA

Policy and Service Development
• Ensure medicines related policies, procedures and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) are adhered to in own working areas.
• Identify changes which are required to SOPs, policies and procedures in response to the implementation of ePMA in order to ensure the provision of high quality services.
• Contribute to the development of Trust-wide medicines related policies and procedures as necessary.

Management of Resources
• Collect prescription charges and ensure that cash is handled appropriately
• Ensure the security of medicines within the dispensary and in transit to other sites
• Ensure the security of controlled stationery and in transit to other sites.

Information Resources and Technology
• Draw upon experience, knowledge and specialist training to contribute to the resolution of risks and issues arising from the use of an ePMA system,
• Support the management of upgrades of the ePMA system and ensure all software functions have been tested before going live. Advise the project team on the potential impact within the Trust.
• Use the computerised pharmacy information system to record medicines-related clinical information including prescribed items, allergies and details of patients own drugs.
• Use the pharmacy information system to generate financial and management information on prescribing expenditure for own clinical areas.
