An opportunity has arisen for a fixed term contract Band 6 Occupational Therapist to join the North Kensington and Chelsea Community Mental Health Hub. The post is from the starting date until November 2025. The team is located in W9 close to Westbourne Park station, with great transport links and serving the diverse community of North Kensington. We are looking for an Occupational Therapist with motivation and enthusiasm for working in a community mental health role.

The post holder will be a valued member of the team and will offer Occupational Therapy assessments and intervention for clients as well as supporting the overall work of the team by providing a named worker role for some clients and supporting the overall work of the team.

The team consists of medical staff, nurses, social workers, peer support workers, community navigators, arts therapies, employment specialists and psychology staff. There are two other Occupational Therapists in the team and the post holder will have opportunity to co-facilitate groups as a part of the psychosocial offer for the hub.

Although the post is fixed term, we will support the post holder in seeking a permanent position within CNWL when the fixed term period ends.

• To work as a Senior Occupational Therapist in the Adult Community Mental Health hub, providing a high quality service to clients.
• To provide OT assessments and intervention for clients under the care of the team.
• To provide functional assessments and home assessments for prescribing adapted equipment, making recommendations and for accommodation needs.
• To provide evidence based group interventions.
• To provide a case worker role for a designated number of clients with an occupational focus.
• To work within the multidisciplinary team and support the overall functioning of the team.
• To offer clinical placements to Occupational Therapy Students.
• To provide informal support and supervision to staff as needed.

This post would suit a psychologist who thrives in the inpatient setting and is looking for an opportunity to develop a new service for people attending the acute Trust with complex mental health needs.

The postholder will take a lead in designing the Liaison Psychology service. This is a newly created post, welcomed by the Liaison Psychiatry team, as well as the wider Clinical Health Psychology service. The role will be on site, although hybrid models of working could be explored.

The postholder will provide specialist psychological assessment and brief therapeutic interventions in the acute setting. The postholder will offer advice and consultation on service users’ psychological care.

Clinical responsibilities include provision of highly specialised psychological assessments and interventions for service users and specialist consultation for psychiatric and hospital based staff. The postholder will be responsible for systematic governance of psychological practice within Liaison Psychiatry.

Education responsibilities will be a key component, including leading on engaging hospital based staff with education of how to deliver psychologically informed care in the acute setting.

KR 1 Clinical and Client Care
• To provide highly specialist psychological assessments, formulations and interventions for clients under the care of the Liaison Psychiatry service, often in busy departments, such as Accident and Emergency.
• To provide brief psychological interventions with distressed service users, whilst waiting for allocation of an admission bed.
• To provide culturally appropriate psychological interventions with carers or families of referred clients when required.
• To assess and monitor risk and draw up appropriate risk management plans, including supporting the ward based team to implement effective safety planning.
• To provide limited outpatient follow-up for service users attending Accident and Emergency, who might benefit from a more detailed psychological assessment and brief therapeutic interventions.

Welcome to CNWL Mental Health Inpatient Services for Children and Young People. Collingham Child and Family Centre is one of six National 7 Day Inpatient settings, that work in partnership with Chelsea Hospital Schools for children aged 5 - 13 years old. We are currently recruiting for an exciting CAMHS Clinical Team Leader (RCN, RMN, RNLD).

Nestled between High Street Kensington & Earls Court, Collingham is a Tier 4 Children’s Mental Health Unit which provides acute inpatient and schooling for young people with a range of with complex mental health needs and behavioural problems.

The role consists of a flexible shift pattern: Early 07:30 - 15:30, Late 12:30 - 20:30, Nights 20:00 - 08:00. This is a 24/7 service.

We’re passionate about young people’s mental health outcomes, and strive to deliver first-class patient-centred, safe and effective care. At Collingham you will be supporting children and their families to build resilience, better coping strategies and healthy relationships through therapeutic intervention and structured meaningful activity. Who are we?

The team consists of nursing, psychology, occupational therapists, systemic psychotherapists, support workers, ward manager, matron and psychiatry. We are expanding into developing nurses to the Advanced Clinical Practitioner level, and apprenticeships for support workers. The leads of the service are a Clinical Unit Manager, Lead Nurse, Consultant Psychiatrist, and is linked to the CAMHS service line which is overseen by Head of Tier 4 services as well as Clinical and Service Directors for CAMHS and Eating Disorders. Coordinate meeting invites to ensure all MDM members are provided with date, venue and times of meetings.

Keep an up to date list of all MDM members’ names and emails, removing those from the list who leave the group.

Manage all referrals for review by the MDM. The referrals are received from Health and Social Care professionals.

Inviting the referrer and patient’s GP to relevant MDM meetings where the patient will be discussed.

Ensure that actions are followed-up using action logs.

Ensure that the patient case list is populated and kept up to date.

Email respective care plans and referrals to all MDM members, 24-48 hours ahead of the meeting.

Ensure all referrals are present on EMIS web and that EMIS is kept up-to date.

Providing relevant caseload data and reports.

Cover for colleagues across Camden when needed to co-ordinate and facilitate the function of MDM meetings across the Neighbourhood.

Provide administrative support to the East CICH team in collaboration with other administrative staff.

The successful post holder will be responsible for the overall management of the Adult Therapy Team which includes both professionally qualified and unqualified psychology/psychotherapy staff.

To be responsible for the organisation, management and leadership of high-quality specialist clinical psychology and psychotherapy services to service users referred to Adult Eating Disorder Service. This includes responsibility for planning and provision of psychology services that serve this population in community and inpatient settings.

To exercise operational responsibility for these services ensuring appropriate governance, financial management and clinical leadership.

The post holder will work autonomously within professional guidelines and exercise responsibility for the systematic governance of psychological practice within the specialist outpatient psychological therapy services and to ensure that systems are in place and working effectively for the clinical and professional supervision and support of all other psychologists and staff within the services for which the post holder has designated professional responsibility, including clear systems for effective recruitment, professional appraisal, and the identification of CPD needs across the services. The post-holder also takes a lead role in the development and provision of the Continuing Professional Development (CPD) programme for psychologists and psychotherapy staff working across Adult Eating Disorder Services in CNWL.

To lead on and oversee appropriate Quality Improvement (QI) projects, audit, policy and service development and research activities and/or programmes. To take the lead on the full range of planning and implementation of policy and service development changes within the area served by the services.

The post holder will take an active role in the Senior Management Team of The Eating Disorder Service. They will contribute, as required, to business development across the service line through writing tenders, presenting on new business bids, designing appropriate service models for cost-effective and quality care.

The Eating Disorder Service exists as part of Goodall Division and provides a range of comprehensive and innovative Eating Disorder services across London. The service currently comprises a range of inpatient beds and specialist community teams in several London Boroughs.

The post holder will be based at the Vincent Square Clinic Eating Disorder Service at Health at The Stowe in the Paddington area, and will provide clinical and other services across the in-patient, day-patient and outpatient programmes, although the majority of the clinical work will be with outpatients Service at the Health at The Stowe base. Service provision within this scope will involve regularly travelling to different sites within the catchment area including the satellite clinic at Roxborough Road, Harrow, and the service main base at 1 Nightingale Place, Chelsea.

1. To provide and be accountable for highly developed specialist psychological assessments of clients referred to Eating Disorder services.

The Psychology team works with adults in the community with severe and enduring mental health problems including psychosis, bipolar affective disorder, complex emotional needs, recurrent depression and complex PTSD. As a service we provide palliative care to the patients of UCLH and South Camden & Islington community. The community team is based at St Pancras Hospital, and we work as one team with the UCLH hospital team. Working in the community, you will work as an autonomous practitioner, as part of a team managing a caseload of palliative care patients with a variety of conditions, and often complex needs. 4. To identify patients, their informal carers or children whom may be at risk and vulnerable. Promptly enact the process outlined in the policies for Care of Vulnerable Adults and Care of Vulnerable Children.
