Craigroyston Community High School is a non-denominational secondary community school serving a catchment area in the northwest of Edinburgh. In the school’s catchment there are 3 associated Primary Schools; Craigroyston, Forthview and Pirniehall. The Locality is undergoing regeneration with 750 new homes being built.

The school’s catchment is in a designated area of high deprivation. Free Meal Entitlement is 40% and one quarter of our pupil body have additional support for learning requirements. Approximately 10% of our pupil cohort are LAC. The vision for the school reflects this need and a range of nurturing and inclusive measures (including a zero-exclusion approach) have been introduced to best support all young people that attend the school. Lifelong Learning Library Adviser
Direct Services/Mobile Library Service (Based at Oxgangs Library)

Salary: £25,322 - £27,727
Hours: 36 per week (Monday to Friday only but will require some evening working)

No Saturday Working.

Direct Services/ Mobile Library Team is based at Oxgangs Library. The Mobile Library team deliver library services out with library locations e.g. to schools, customers' homes, care homes and Assisted Living Accommodation, postholders must be able to work in a variety of non-library environments and support customers with additional needs.

This role involves a degree of continual manual handing of boxes and trolley’s where we take boxes and trolleys of books into schools and Care Homes, loading theses on and off vehicles. We do this in all weather conditions – appropriate PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) will be supplied. The job also involves being able to work at low heights and climbing in and out of vehicle cabs.

A Full Driving Licence is required: The successful candidate will be required to drive the Mobile Library Vehicles - up to 7.5 tonne LGV's, this requires a C or C1 on your licence. If you do not have a C or C1 on your licence successful permanent appointments will be given professional driver training to the required standard.

These posts will support the Adult Education Programmes across the City of Edinburgh. There is a particular need to recruit staff to support programmes in the outskirts of Edinburgh such as South Queensferry , Ratho and Currie as well as the city centre. Tasks include meeting and greeting students attending Adult Education courses, directing them to the rooms and undertaking basic admin tasks such as photocopying for tutors.

Driving would be an advantage but not essential.

This advert is for casual tertiary staff who are able to travel as required to different venues where needed. The courses delivered take place morning, afternoon, evening and weekends and are typically 2 hours in duration.

Schedule training courses with both the internal trainers and external providers, booking venues and accommodation as required.
Responsible for the management of trainers diaries
Managing the LMS (learner man system) with new starters, leavers, and transfers, assigning eLearning as required.
Inputting of data and maintaining accurate records into electronic databases and management systems
Raise Purchase Orders
Liaise directly with Internal Managers, External Providers and other departments as necessary to support the Organisation
Complete Expenses for staff team
Produce reports and materials required by department using various methods
To report to allocated line manager for the tasks being undertaken/areas of responsibility where administration is shared
To respect and maintain confidentiality of sensitive information that may be accessed
Manage tasks within the scope of the role
General administration duties for department
To cover any other duties that may be required

Requirements:

Experience of scheduling or planning events
Enthusiasm, drive and self-motivation
Excellent organisational skills and able to use own initiative
An appropriate level of expertise within an office environment, including Microsoft Office packages and telephone manners
Excellent written and computer skills
Able to multi-task and work under pressure with tight deadlines
Have good attention to detail
Good Timekeeping
Confident in their approach and ability
Dedicated to team work
Experience of use of a learner management system or a background in social care would be desirable but not essential.

Portobello High School is a six year comprehensive based in the East of Edinburgh with a school roll of over 1400 young people, drawn mainly from five associate primary schools – Brunstane, Duddingston, Parsons Green, Royal High and Towerbank.

The school was rebuilt in 2016 and enjoys a very high standard of accommodation. Salaries will be in accordance with the Scheme of Salaries and Conditions of Service for Teaching Staff in School Education.
