This is an exciting opportunity to identify the chemical signalling molecules responsible for communication and interaction between AOD bacteria, to determine how they influence lesion development, and if they play a role in the potential shift from an endophytic to pathogenic lifestyle. About you:

Applicants will have a PhD in molecular microbiology or related field of study and be able to demonstrate sufficient knowledge in research methods and techniques to fulfil the project objectives. A Learning Support Assistant (LSA) aids teachers in the classroom by providing personalized support to students, particularly those with special educational needs. They help with lesson preparation, assist students with their work, manage behaviour, and ensure a positive learning environment. LSAs play a key role in helping students achieve their full potential.
Key Responsibilities: • Assist teachers in preparing lesson materials and resources. • Provide one-on-one or small group support to students, particularly those with special educational needs. • Help manage classroom behaviour to maintain a positive and conducive learning environment. • Support students with their academic work, including reading, writing, and numeracy tasks. • Assist in the implementation of Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and other tailored learning strategies. • Foster a supportive and encouraging atmosphere to help students build confidence and self-esteem. • Monitor and record student progress, providing feedback to teachers and contributing to assessment reports. • Assist with the supervision of students during non-classroom activities, such as lunch breaks and field trips. • Collaborate with teachers, special education coordinators, and other staff to ensure cohesive support for students. • Participate in staff meetings, training sessions, and professional development opportunities as required
Qualifications and Experience: • Education: Competent in Maths, English and use of ICT is essential. SEN qualification is desirable. Additional training in autism education is desirable. • Experience: Proven track record of benefitting the lives of young people, preferably in an educational setting. Experience working with young people with autism is desirable.
