This position works under the direct supervision of the Emerging Voices (EV) Specialist. The position has no supervisory responsibilities. Headquartered in Singapore, The EtonHouse International Education Group has 120 schools across 11 countries. We run pre-schools as well as K-12 international schools. As an independent IPC charity, ECF continuously runs initiatives to make a difference in the lives of vulnerable children.

RESPONSIBILITIES

The Assistant Teacher will assist the English/Mandarin Teacher and the Principal in the execution of professional duties and responsibilities.

• Working alongside English/Mandarin Teacher, provide appropriate learning experiences for children within an inquiry, play-based context
• Assist the English/Mandarin Teacher in documenting the children's learning through contributions via newsletters, portfolios etc.
• Create a warm and nurturing environment for children
• Build and maintain close partnership with parent

• 协助英文/中文老师建立分组式活动、探索为主导、娱乐为背景的教学模式
• 具有积极的团队合作力
• 保持与家长的良好沟通
• 协助英文/中文老师通过校园通讯、班级告示板及儿童成长观察报告记录孩子的学习经历
• 提供积极的语言环境激发孩子学习华文的热情。

• Possess Diploma in Early Childhood Care and Education or its equivalent.
• Candidates who hold a Certificate in Early Childhood Care and Education or its equivalent with at least 1 years of relevant teaching experience are welcome to apply.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills
• Able to work well independently as well as within a team

RESPONSIBILITIES

Responsible to: Principal in the execution of professional duties and responsibilites.

As Class Teacher to:

• Respect and value each child's social, cultural and religious background and by example, provide mutual respect and tolerance.
• Share in the management of pastoral care, health, welfare and behaviour of all pupils and in particular, those within your designated class group.
• Undertake the teaching of a class in accordance with the school's agreed policies and guidelines.
• Use a variety of appropriate teaching and caring methods to ensure high quality learning takes place.
• Provide planning documents identifying specific learning objectives, differentiated tasks, special needs, extension and assessment, to the Principal or other authorized officer.
• Maintain professional dialogue with colleagues concerning the children, other colleagues and the school. Treat all information with confidentiality.
• Ensure the provision of equal opportunities for all.
• Encourage children to take pride in their own environment and show respect and concern for others, to the benefit of the school as a caring community.
• Be responsible for all aspects of classroom management eg. Care of equipment with resources well-labelled and accessible. Maintain a tidy, well organised room.
• Create an interesting and lively classroom which promotes independent learning.
• Collaborate with Principal and staff in establishing and developing effective pupil assessment procedures and moderation portfolios. Keep appropriate records of achievement for each child in class and provide reports as necessary.
• Build positive links between yourself and parents of children in your care.
• Guide, motivate and monitor classroom helpers in carrying out their tasks.

As Team Member to:

• Collaborate with staff in long term planning.
• Take corporate responsibility for displays throughout the school.
• Share management and delivery of assemblies.
• Offer and receive advice and guidance on issues which affect the whole school's performance and thos.
• Share your expertise.
• Participate in appraisal procedures and in-service training that provide personal, professional and career development.

• At least 1-2 years of relevant professional teaching experience in early childhood;
• The candidate should hold a minimum of a Diploma in Early Childhood or Education or equivalent
• Knowledge of or willingness to acquire knowledge of inquiry-based learning is required;
• Certified by ECDA in the L2 category

Teach lesson plans according to the curriculum

Ensure the holistic well being of children especially health, safety and hygiene aspects.

Prepare age appropriate resources and learning corners

Communicate with parents on childrens' progress and well -being

Practise positive teaching and child management strategies

Prepare documentation of children's learning

Coordinate and conduct school field trips and centre events

Build and maintain relationships with families to foster effective home school collaboration
