• Oversees and coordinates assigned activities, of the Installation Army Education Center, functions and projects, to ensure the goals and objectives of the education services and the credentialing/licensure program.
• Exercises responsibility for all assigned work performed in the Education Center, to include tuition assistance, the Functional Academic Skills Training program, Multi-Use Learning Facility, testing, college programs and classroom management.
• Contacts unit commanders to discuss requirements in order to provide command responsive programs and unit participation in education developmental programs.
• Provides the full range of general education and career development counseling to Service members, Retirees, DoD civilians, and eligible U.S. contractors, local nationals, and adult family members of the installation or activity.

This selectee will perform services as a Child Development Services (CDS) Training and Curriculum (TAC) Specialist. This position is to provide and deliver a comprehensive training program to Child Development Center (CDC) employees and CDS Family Child Care (FCC) providers, assist with the implementation of a developmentally appropriate curriculum program that fosters the physical, social, emotional, cognitive and language development of children and youth, ages 6 weeks to 12 years and promote school readiness and support ongoing school success.

Typical work assignments include:

• Providing training to CDC employees and FCC providers.
• Utilizing child and youth development and training expertise to role model, mentor, coordinate and provide training, observe for successful implementation of training, assess development of children and youth by direct observation, and provide services that lead to obtaining and/or maintaining accreditation by a nationally recognized early childhood accrediting agency, where applicable.
• Developing a working relationship with local and on-line colleges, universities and professional organizations and advises employees/providers about continuing avenues of professional development.
• Maintaining training records and establishes a standardized Individual Development Plan (IDP) for each CDS employee and FCC provider, as directed by CDC Director.
• Ensuring that the required Coast Guard curriculum is implemented within each CDS program (i.e. supports implementation and execution of the Coast Guard standardized curriculum within the Child Development Center (CDC), including assisting CDC direct care staff by documenting observations and assessments, evaluating classroom environments, reviewing weekly activity plans, and providing additional training when needed).
• Providing daily assistance with plans and assists in and supports development and implementation of parent education and parent participation program, as required.
• Ensuring all childcare personnel meet training requirements as set by local, State, and Federal agencies, along with standards set by the accrediting agency, when applicable.

SUMMARY: The primary purpose of this position is: To secure and manage the training program within the 3rd Munitions Squadron. The program includes, but not limited to: upgrade training (UGT) and on-the-job-training (OJT); civilian training requirements (if applicable); retraining; formal training coordination and scheduling; instructional systems development (ISD); professional military education (PME) scheduling and management; ancillary training; unit training planning; preparing briefings on status of training (SOT) to the commander; provides guidance and assistance on technical training data to unit commander, managers, and supervisors.

DUTIES:

• Plans, manages, and directs munitions training program.
• Initiates, controls, and schedules education and training materials and testing procedures.
• Organizes, maintains, and outlines training program for managers and supervisors; assists management in the commander's review (CR) process.
• Uses varied and advanced functions of office automation software to create, format, modify, edit, and print a variety of documents and support office operations.

• Provides advisory services to all levels of staff to identify and define client needs and requirements in relation to web information services and computer-based training systems. Provides technical oversight, direction, and guidance on web-based material and interactive media development.
• Identifies system complaints and problems in relation to web design and coordinates with Information Systems for resolution.
• Analyzes, provides technical direction, and evaluates computer-based training and on-line help of performance-support systems, including development of prototype and other performance support tools.
