Job Description - Teacher MPS/UPS with TLR2a for Phase & Maths Leadership
This job description outlines, within the terms of your conditions of employment, the range of professional duties attached to the post. It is not a comprehensive definition of those duties. Main purpose of the role:
• In addition to carrying out the duties of a teacher, the Phase Leader will play a key role in the distributed leadership and management of the school.

3. To develop strategies to promote new teaching methods and improve learning throughout school and to monitor their effectiveness in raising standards of teaching and learning in Maths.
4. To lead or contribute to professional development activities in Maths as part of the planned programme for the school and to promote the sharing of good practice.
5. To manage the resources available for Maths and make recommendations in order to maintain and develop curriculum provision.
6. To produce a Maths area action plan (which should be reviewed on a termly basis) and reports for Senior Leaders and Governors to ensure everyone has a strong understanding about Maths provision, standards and outcomes.
E) Phase Leadership
To assist the Senior Leadership Team in the leadership and management of the school

Assessment, Monitoring and Evaluation
• To contribute to monitoring, evaluating and reviewing the effectiveness of policies, priorities and targets
• To analyse data across the Phase, identifying trends in pupil strengths and children who are not making adequate progress, in conjunction with the Deputy Head
• To carry out termly moderation across the Phase (e.g. writing or Reception ELGS) in partnership with subject leaders where appropriate
