OCS are currently recruiting for a 'Head of Learning & Development' to lead our Talent, Learning, Performance and Early Careers strategy within the UK & Ireland region.
Reporting directly to the 'Director of Resourcing & Talent Management' you will be responsible for designing, implementing and over-seeing comprehensive programmes focused around colleague development, talent management, enhancing colleague skills and building our leadership culture across the organisation.
Brief description of the role and responsibilities OCS are currently recruiting for a 'Head of Learning & Development' to lead our Talent, Learning, Performance and Early Careers strategy within the UK & Ireland region.
Reporting directly to the 'Director of Resourcing & Talent Management' you will be responsible for designing, implementing and over-seeing comprehensive programmes focused around colleague development, talent management, enhancing colleague skills and building our leadership culture across the organisation.
Main duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to: Operational tasks - Collaborating across the business to define and refine the learning development & early careers strategy, ensuring this is well aligned to the OCS organisational strategy.
- Identifying emerging trends and best practices in learning and development, early careers and leadership development to inform strategic decision making.
- Building and evolving the overall leadership development offer, ensuring our leaders are equipped with the capabilities needed for now and in the future.
- Developing and implementing high impact learning programmes and development initiatives catering to all employee levels and skill requirements.
- Ensuring seamless delivery of programs and services / in person workshops.
- Ownership of the OCS Learning Management System (OCS Academy) and the digital learning experience for colleagues.
- Monitoring KPIs and metrics to assess the effectiveness and impact of learning initiatives, and making data driven improvements.
- Ensure compliance with relevant regulatory requirements and industry standards in all learning and development activities.
- Leading the senior leadership succession planning approach and personal development plan initiatives for all colleagues.
- Overseeing the design and execution of early careers programmes including work experience placements, graduate schemes and working closely with the apprenticeship team towards achieving strategic objectives.
- Leading a team of Learning SMEs, ensuring resources are aligned to areas of strategic need (circa 4-5 colleagues)
Experience and Qualifications - A track record of defining, designing and delivery in the L&D roles at senior management level.
- Good understanding of Talent Management processes, including succession planning, career development frameworks and internal mobility strategies.
- Passion for Diversity and Inclusion, understanding the importance of reflecting this in our learning offer.
- Commercial awareness, able to build relevant, accessible programmes relevant for the business.
- Innovative and change-driven, with a broad external network & knowledge of best external practise in other leading organisations.
- An expert relationship builder, able to build credible relationships with all levels of the organisation.
- Strong influencing, networking and collaboration skills.
- Strong understanding of Early Careers pathways.
- Understanding & experience of working an operational, service based business as well as a unionised environment is desirable but not essential.
- Proficiency in learning management systems (LMS) and e-learning platforms.
- Detail focused and analytical, with strong organisational and prioritisation skills.
- Comfortable operating in a divisional organisation and delivering through others as part of a shared vision.
- A high performing, target driven individual who is passionate about delivering an outstanding colleague experience.
Hours and Environment National coverage / Itinerant.
Core working hours for this position are from 09:00 until 17:30, Monday to Friday. However, flexibility will be expected regarding hours of work to suit the needs of the business and team due to diverse nature of works undertaken.
