Coventry and Warwickshire Pathology Services (CWPS) is a large, long standing Pathology Network in the South Midlands, and our Cellular Pathology services are across two main sites; University Hospitals Coventry and Warwickshire NHS Trust in Coventry and South Warwickshire NHS Foundation Trust in Warwick.

The Histopathology Department is run by over 120 staff members who provide dissection, microtomy, molecular and immunohistochemistry services as well as reporting and clinical advice from University Hospital Coventry. Sub-specialities within Histopathology include Breast, Gynaecology, Dermatology, Colorectal and Respiratory among others. Mortuary services are also provided across both sites.

As departmental Training Section Manager, you will be responsible for the co-ordination and delivery of all elements of the departmental training program.

We are in the process of updating our equipment and we offer a large repertoire of tests across the two sites. The post holder will assist the Head of R&D and research leads to promote and support clinical research supported by University Hospitals Coventry and Warwickshire NHS Trust (UHCW). Together with the R&D Director and Head of R&D, the Research Development Manager will play a vital role in the continuing development of the locally developed Research and Grant Portfolio. As well as being managerially responsible for R&D administrative staff, the post holder will provide day-to-day operational support to the R&D Director, Head of R&D and Management team and will be responsible for actioning any special projects at their request.

The post holder will lead on Research Development at UHCW by advising and assisting staff to produce high quality grant proposals and applications for funding to external bodies.
