Come and help us transform support and opportunities for Bury people with learning disabilities; and autistic people! We have an exciting opportunities to join our commissioning team.

The post will:

• Be responsible for commissioning services from a range of Care Providers (e.g. for young people 18 -25 years, for people with complex and challenging behaviour).
• Contribute to; and implement commissioning strategies which deliver change (e.g. lead workshops with social workers, providers and residents to understand the needs of autistic people)
• Lead on the creation of innovative approaches to high quality, affordable and outcomes focused services (e.g. work with providers to ensure people are encouraged to develop their strengths and skills so they can live as independently as possible).

You will have a thorough knowledge of legislation governing social care; and of national and local strategies which are relevant to health and social care needs. Having a good knowledge of commissioning and strategy, you have excellent communication and negotiation skills, which will make sure that outcomes are achieved through joint working. Solution-focused, you will have experience of working with people at different levels within an organisation and also of working with complex information.Staff development includes access to coaching and development opportunities e.g. apprenticeships.

We are looking for a dynamic, senior, strategic leader to become our Head of Service for Mental Health, Learning Disability and Autism as part of the expansion of our senior leadership team. Building on solid foundations you will lead, and further develop, adult social work practice in these specialist areas within the borough. You will ensure that residents accessing services receive effective, timely assessment and interventions. You will be responsible for ensuring Adult Social Care meets their statutory duties to those in need of our support whilst applying person centred and best value principles. With a commitment to multi-disciplinary working to you will be working in partnership with colleagues across the health and social care landscape and be a key member of Adult Social Care’s passionate and committed senior leadership team.

The postholder will have demonstrable experience of stakeholder and partnership engagement alongside a proven track record of delivering service transformation. We are looking for a qualified social worker who can support our workforce to deliver strengths based, outcome focussed practice in social work whilst influencing and delivering transformation and departmental performance at a senior strategic level through innovation, assurance and service development. Alongside your strategic capability you must have experience of managing and supporting social work delivery in one or more of these specialist fields and a strong, working knowledge base of the legislation informing social work practice.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead and manage the adult social care team, providing guidance, support, and professional development opportunities.
• Develop and implement policies and procedures to ensure compliance with relevant legislation and regulations.
• Oversee the delivery of high-quality services, ensuring that the needs of service users are met effectively and efficiently.
• Collaborate with external partners, stakeholders, and agencies to enhance service delivery and promote best practices.
• Monitor and evaluate the performance of adult social care services, identifying areas for improvement and implement necessary changes.
• Manage budgets and resources effectively, ensuring financial sustainability and value for money.
• Support the Senior Management Team in translating strategic leadership into tangible outcomes within Adults Services and across the wider organisation.
• Represent the organisation at meetings, conferences, and events, advocating for the needs and interests of adults in our care.

Qualifications and Experience:

• Proven experience in a senior leadership role within adult social care or a related field.
• Strong knowledge of relevant legislation, regulations, and best practices in adult social care.
• Excellent leadership and management skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate a team.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build effective relationships with a wide range of stakeholders.
• Demonstrated ability to manage budgets and resources effectively.
• A commitment to continuous improvement and a passion for delivering high-quality services.

Your new company

Your new role
Reporting to the Head of IT, the Service Desk Manager will be responsible for building a service desk function which will service all schools and the head office of the trust, encompassing incident, problem and change management, to ensure that the highest level of service is provided across the trust at all times. Joining the trust at the start of a journey, you will be responsible for building the service desk, which will involve defining the operating model across 1st, 2nd and 3rd line support, as well as recruiting and training service desk engineers. You will then be responsible for the ongoing training and development of a team of service desk engineers, ensuring they have the relevant support and training to provide an effective IT service to schools. On a daily basis, you will be liaising with key stakeholders across the organisation and ensuring that all services are provided to the highest quality, whilst ensuring all SLAs are adhered to, for example, ITIL best practices. In addition to this, you will be required to develop and maintain reports around the performance of the service desk, suggesting potential developments and improvements, as well as analysing trends. This is an exciting role for an established IT Manager from the education sector to join an organisation where you will become an integral part of the success story.
What you\'ll need to succeed
In order to be successful in securing this position, you will have previous experience of managing and ideally establishing and developing a service desk, supporting multiple sites. Experience working in or with a knowledge of the education sector would also be beneficial, as well as experience adhering to ITIL practices being essential. An ambitious and proactive approach is essential as this is a role which will lead a team, as you will be required to inspire others and further develop IT engineers.
