About you: We are looking for passionate individuals who are committed to excellence in teaching and research to join Bristol Business School as a Senior Lecturer in Project Management. You should have a strong academic background in project management, as well as practical experience of delivering project management solutions in a complex environment. The nature of the subject group’s teaching means that candidates should be confident, outgoing and comfortable working as part of a teaching team on large and sometimes interdisciplinary modules, as well as independently on smaller, specialist modules. Candidates should hold a degree or postgraduate qualification in a relevant discipline and be committed to teaching and research. Membership of a Professional Body such as PMI or APM is desirable.
To succeed in this role, you will require a sufficient depth and currency of specialist knowledge in Project Management, ideally with the ability to contribute to other related subject areas within the cluster, demonstrate a commitment to teaching with the ability to engage and inspire students within a variety of academic settings, and be able to design innovative teaching materials using a technology enhanced approach.

We have an exciting opportunity to be part of a definitive trial examining the effectiveness of oral nutritional supplement use in care homes.

We seek to appoint a Post Doctoral Research Fellow to join a multi-disciplinary research team for the REFRESH (nutRition intervEntions For malnouRished oldEr adultS in care homes) trial. This is a large NIHR funded randomised controlled trial examining oral nutritional supplements in care homes over four years.

The trial is a multi-university collaboration led by Professor Mary Hickson and Professor Jane Murphy of Bournemouth University. It is supported by the PenCTU and includes collaborators from the University of Exeter (statistics, health economics and community geriatric expertise), University of Coventry (dietetic expertise), University of Southampton (geriatric expertise), as well as care home managers and public representatives.

Your main tasks will be to recruit, set-up and initiate sites (care homes), maintain excellent working relationships with the care homes, manage the three field workers (to help with site initiation), develop online training for care home staff, and manage the day-to-day running of the trial. You will be supported by a Research Assistant and line managed by Professor Hickson.

Applications are invited from highly motivated individuals with a PhD or equivalent within the field of nutrition and dietetics. You will have excellent communication and organisational skills, clinical research experience with older adults, and ideally will have worked in the care home sector. You will also have an ability to work both independently and as part of a team, be able to work to tight deadlines and be comfortable and resilient working under pressure. A knowledge of training other professionals and using online educational platforms will be an advantage.

The role will be based at the University of Plymouth, recruiting in Devon & Cornwall, Wessex and the Birmingham area with an opportunity to discuss a hybrid online and in person working pattern. You will be required to travel regularly to Plymouth and/or Bournemouth for meetings, as well as visiting care homes in all the regions listed above that may not be accessible by public transport.

About the vacancy:

We have a vacancy to join the School of Applied Sciences as a Lecturer/Senior Lecturer in Farming Systems. The post holder will support students on our food systems, environmental science and conservation programmes by contributing to teaching and learning, as well as supervising undergraduate and postgraduate research projects across the discipline. There may be an opportunity to lead the popular MSc Sustainable Food Systems programme, depending on experience. The post holder will also teach students on the final year undergraduate module, Sustainable Food Production. Occasionally, our lecturers will also be required to support teaching teams in other programmes within the School (e.g. Biological Sciences).

This is a full-time permanent post offered as a Lecturer or Senior Lecturer role, depending on experience. Preference will be given to applicants who can deliver teaching in agroecology. Experience and knowledge of food policy and/or food security would be an advantage, as would experience and knowledge of plant science.

About you:

Candidates will be expected to have a PhD in agroecology, sustainable agriculture, farming systems or a related field relevant to this post or, if from a professional practice background, a Master’s qualification together with significant professional practice experience. We are looking for candidates with a background and broad knowledge across food systems who can deliver teaching on the MSc Sustainable Food Systems and on our undergraduate food systems module as well as in environmental science/conservation science. They should have experience of teaching and assessment at an HEI. Successful candidates will be able to demonstrate experience of devising and delivering teaching. Experience and knowledge of plant science would be advantageous.

We are looking for candidates who align to the UWE values. Successful candidates should be able to demonstrate their experience of leading and motivating groups of people, collegiate working and their organisational skills. Successful candidates will be expected to demonstrate how they will keep abreast of latest developments in this subject area and external best practice benchmarks.

Guidehouse is seeking a Senior Communications and Training Specialist to join our Defense and Security Segment, where they will be responsible for developing, leading, executing, and maintaining a robust communications management plan needed for internal and external stakeholders to advance government modernization initiatives. This position will support a program in U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP).

What You Will Do:

• Lead development of professional briefings that include informative and aesthetically pleasing graphics to be received by government executives and leadership

• Lead development and execution of project tasks/deliverables; support the Project Manager in finalizing project tasks/ deliverables.

• Lead client meetings, develop/deliver agendas, meeting presentations, and other required documentation for customers.

• Help inform decision-making through development of executive briefing presentations, talking points, and strategic communications/ work products such as newsletters, infographics, and other related marketing materials and graphics that promote program awareness and updates.

• Develop and recommend training strategies and methods that are best suited for an organization, program, or project based on the operational environment. 

• Conduct in-person or virtual seminars, workshops, individual training sessions, etc.

• Lead design and deliver training materials and content including presentations, job manuals and job aids, and other material to ensure trainees effectively learn the material.

What You Will Need:

3) Lead projects of significant scope ensuring that they are planned, managed and delivered effectively. Supporting a wide range of programmes and co-produce national strategy in areas of expertise ensuring sustainability. Able to make a connection between their work and the benefit to patients and the public. Create an inclusive working culture which understands the importance of diversity and inclusion in delivering our role in the health and care system.
4) Work in an inclusive way with all stakeholders including patients, NHS bodies ALB’s, regulators and ICBs. Collaborating with teams across NHSE, provider trusts and engaging with a wide variety of partners and stakeholders. The post requires significant focus on building networks, work with senior nursing teams and others regionally and nationally, acquire a deep system appreciation whilst supporting the delivery of key programmes of work. Have an appreciation of the relationship between CNO for England, the Department of Health & Social Care, individual provider and commissioning organisations.

The successful candidate will have a track record of supporting the delivery of successful programmes of work and change. In addition to working closely with our national and regional teams, the successful candidate will be expected to work and communicate effectively with a wide range of stakeholders including local system and provider organisations.

Salary progression
Applicants will commence at the bottom of Band 8d with a full-time starting salary of £83,571 with a pay step increase after 5 years’ service.

These salaries are offered in accordance with NHS Terms and Conditions and the HEE Pay Progression Policy and are subject to annual cost of living review.
