Receives, records, sorts, transports, controls, and processes all incoming and outgoing special services mail, i.e. registered, express, certified, insured, and other various extra service articles personally through the window to the addressee/authorized agent and to various organizations and mailrooms designated mail orderlies and mail clerks.
• Provides expedient and complete mail like matter services sent via commercial carriers. Responsible for securely receiving, controlling and processing commercial carrier parcels (i.e. UPS and FedEx parcels).
• To provide first-line defense of Mail Security for JBSA customers and serviced activities. Responsible for knowing the characteristics of suspicious mail items and the proper procedures for handling and reporting suspicious mail items to the proper authorities.
• Maintains and Operates as a Unit Mail Clerk. Responsible for assigning and withdrawal of receptacles for TDY, student and permanent party postal lock boxes, changing combinations/keys, redirecting undeliverable mail.

• Utilize the Defense Civilian Pay System to collect, sort, post, update and review time, attendance and labor data for assigned personnel each pay period.
• Respond to non-technical requests for information regarding office functions, status of reports, duty status of office personnel, or other information available from files.
• Use a personal computer with word processing, spreadsheet software, and printing equipment to create, copy, edit, store, retrieve, and print a variety of standardized documents.
• Coordinate reservations, air, hotel, and rental reservations for personnel.
• Prepare travel orders for personnel based on availability of funds to cover travel costs.

Participate with higher-graded employees in composing handouts and training materials for New Employee Orientation sessions and training programs.

Position located at a Federal Correctional Complex (FCC) which consists of multiple institutions composed of various security levels.

Responsible for assisting in the organization, planning, implementation and evaluation of the following types of education programs: Adult Continuing Education, Literacy, General Education Development, English as a Second Language, parenting education, Post- Secondary Education, Occupational/Vocational education, special learning needs programs, release readiness, and leisure library and law library.

Frequently modifies and improves upon the existing programs and activities by updating course content and instructional methodology.

Makes periodic evaluations of academic and vocational programs, and keeps abreast of constantly changing developments.

Assists in determining program needs and establishing incentive programs and motivational techniques to meet the needs of a challenging and potentially resistant student population.

Inspects playing area and surface for any potential safety hazards and takes immediate measures to correct. Plans the year round turf maintenance program for outside facilities. Serves as section VCO, overseeing the routine and preventative maintenance program for all vehicles and equipment assigned to outside maintenance. Checks warranties prior to requesting or performing repairs. Assists the fitness maintenance staff with the repair and maintenance of fitness equipment and indoor sports facilities. Sets up and takes down equipment for sports programs and/or special events. Operate government motor vehicles to pick up and deliver supplies, materials and equipment to fitness and sports work stations. Works under the supervision of the Sports and Fitness Director who makes assignments by defining objectives, priorities and deadlines.
