To help organise and facilitate co-design workshops with community groups and individuals with lived experience of psychosis from Bangladeshi, Black African, and Black Caribbean backgrounds. Screening and recruitment of patients diagnosed with psychosis and patients at ultra high risk pf psychosis. This will involve speaking to referrers regularly, attending clinical team meetings, visiting community mental health teams, hospital wards, as well as home based treatment teams. There will be monthly recruitment targets for all studies. The post-holder will be joining a team of research assistants to help meet these targets. Completing eligibility screening assessments and seeking informed consent from patients. Carrying out the assessments for the trials. The trial patients will be assessed on a range of measures at a number of time points for each study. You will need to arrange these interviews and administer clinical interviews, assessment tasks, and self-report questionnaires. Participants will be seen in clinic settings or at home across a large geographical area. Patients are seen in multiple NHS trusts including: Oxford Health, Northamptonshire Healthcare, Berkshire Healthcare, and Central Northwest London (Milton Keynes). Assessments will be carried out blind (i.e. you should not know which condition thepatients have been randomised to). You will need to remind staff and patients not to tell you the allocation. And you will need to report if you have become unblinded. It will be crucial to maintain very high follow-up rates for the trial participants, meaning you will need excellent engagement skills. Good record-keeping will be needed, including updating medical records with trial progress and managing recruitment databases. The successful candidate will be a lab-based individual who will be part of a team responsible for lab support activities including cell sample preparation and plasmid DNA preparation. Reporting into the Synergy Team Leader, the role holder will undertake a wide range of activities, be involved with continuous improvement (CI) activities, and have opportunities for training and development. Key Responsibilities will include:

• Cell sample preparation, including the loading of samples onto LC and/or MS
• Supporting in vitro labs with cell sample preparation for PCR, qPCR, gDNA extractions
• Plasmid DNA preparation (Miniprep & maxiprep kits)
• Making up agar plates, including plating of bacteria and colony picking
• Virus production and transduction
• Results analysis and data entry into LIMS
• Back up for first level technical support
• Consumable stock control within labs using Kanban systems and lean practises
• Vial labelling and aliquoting as necessary
• Takes active role in CI and sustainability activities, e.g., Kanban stock levels, 5S, recycling

We are looking for dedicated and hard-working Learning Support Assistants to join our ASC Centre team at Oxford college.About the role
The successful applicants will be supporting students with Autism and other associated difficulties on courses which are designed for those with Autism and associated difficulties or supporting students to access their course. These courses are from Foundation Level 1 courses to Level 3 courses. There will be an expectation to support in all areas.
You will be responsible for facilitating individual learning programmes, providing support to our learners in small groups and 1-1 activities when attending the ASC Centres. You will be required to facilitate the students learning using creative and purposeful lesson planning in collaboration with the ASC Coordinators to meet the needs of the learners. You may also be required to support learners to access learning on their course within the mainstream learning environment and off-site activities.
Personal care can form part of the duties included in this role and training will be provided.
This role is full time (35 hours per week), permanent, term time only starting August 2024. We welcome applications from candidates seeking part time hours providing you can commit to our working patterns and timetables.
Our centre opening hours is between 8.30am - 4.30pm.
(Term time only salary calculator - your pay will be based on your working hours per week, multiplied by the number of weeks worked, plus 6 weeks holiday and will be spread equally over 12 months).
What do you need to be a successful Learning Support Assistant at Activate Learning?
This is a challenging role that requires resilience, motivation, initiative and patience.
You will be able to provide support to students with Autism and associated difficulties. You will have good communication skills to be able to work with tutors to ensure the delivery of an effective programme of further education and to work as part of a co-ordination team.
A qualification in Autism or other associated difficulties is not essential but a willingness to learn about Autism and the other difficulties a young person may experience is essential.

This post is central to the successful delivery of major new research trials. Screening and recruitment of patients diagnosed with psychosis and patients at ultra high risk pf psychosis. This will involve speaking to referrers regularly, attending clinical team meetings, visiting community mental health teams, hospital wards, as well as home based treatment teams. There will be monthly recruitment targets for all studies. The post-holder will be joining a team of research assistants to help meet these targets. Completing eligibility screening assessments and seeking informed consent from patients. Carrying out the assessments for the trials. The trial patients will be assessed on a range of measures at a number pf time points for each study. You will need to arrange these interviews and administer clinical interviews, assessment tasks, and self-report questionnaires. Participants will be seen in clinic settings or at home across a large geographical area. Patients are seen in multiple NHS trusts including: Oxford Health, Northamptonshire Healthcare, Berkshire Healthcare, and Central Northwest London (Milton Keynes). Although some assessments may take place remotely, it is likely there will be extensive travel which would be facilitated by having valid driving licence, and access to own or other independent means of transport. Assessments will be carried out blind (i.e. you should not know which condition the patients have been randomised to). You will need to remind staff and patients not to tell you the allocation. And you will need to report if you have become unblinded. It will be crucial to maintain very high follow-up rates for the trial participants, meaning you will need excellent engagement skills. Good record-keeping will be needed, including updating medical records with trial progress and managing recruitment databases. You will need to follow standard operational procedures for the trial and NHS Trust policy regarding safeguarding of vulnerable adults and children. You will need to produce regular reports on the recruitment process and assessments. Brief clinical reports will need to be written based on the trial assessments. Any adverse events will need to be reported to the team. You need to regularly enter and check data in the electronic databases. Attendance at supervision will be expected, and at appropriate research team meetings. There are a number of experimental and clinical trials being run in the research team. The postholder will be expected to contribute as appropriate. There will also be opportunities to assist clinical psychologists in elements of clinical work. Administrative duties related to the project. Other duties appropriate to the grade as directed by the grant-holders. Work within the guidelines set out by the Data Protection Act, the Code of Ethics, and with full understanding of confidentiality issues.
