About the role

As part of our continued growth, we now have a fantastic opportunity for a Housekeeping Assistant to join our close-knit team at Acorn Park School, Norwich. As Housekeeping Assistant, you will help support our pupils and young people in their daily lives, ensuring our facilities are well prepared to keep them, comfortable and healthy.

This is a great opportunity to work as part of a team committed to helping pupils with varied and complex needs.

Our Housekeepers carry out an essential role to maintain the standards of cleanliness required by the pupils and young people in our care. You will take pride in ensuring domestic duties including vacuuming, mopping, rubbish removal, dusting and cleaning are carried out to the highest standards.

When it comes to looking after our pupils, we never settle for second best. We are looking for a Housekeeper who shares our vision to build incredible futures by empowering vulnerable young people in the UK, to be happy and to make their way in the world.

Previous experience in a similar setting would be great but isn’t essential as full training will be given, and the right motivation, personal qualities and levels of resilience are just as important. Acorn Park is a school for 98 pupils, who all have a primary diagnosis of Autism. We run two curriculum pathways – Formal and Semi-formal. Our Complex needs pupils are on the Semi-Formal Pathway which is highly personalised from their EHCP. We have a mixture of Day and Residential pupils as we have 8 co-located pupil’s homes on our 30 Acre site in rural Norfolk. On site, we also have a large Forest School and Animal Care Farm along with play facilities, a sports hall and sensory rooms.

As a Research Assistant Psychologist working on the Working on Worries (WoW) project you will be supporting the delivery of the WoW Project Working on Worries which is implementing and evaluating parent-delivered CBT in Primary schools across Norfolk and Waveney. This role will be working with the national and local study teams to support implementation and training of the intervention with school partners, and supporting the evaluation and data collection of implementation outcomes. You will work closely with the project leads to coordinate the day to day management of the project and work with the team and external stakeholders to meet project milestones. You will have the opportunity to be involved in data collection, presentation delivery, observe training, develop implementation plans and help develop / deliver implementation strategies. You will learn about and use implementation science principles which we hope will be transferable in your future career progression. You will develop skills in implementation evaluation as well as working with stakeholders and parents/carers and/or young people to steer the project. The WoW team is a wonderful team and you will work with across different disciplines and organisations so it is hoped that you will develop many varied skills and experience. As a Research Assistant Psychologist within the NSFT Research Development team (Post 2), you will support the development of new research and evaluation projects across the Trust. The role is fast-paced and varied, requiring flexibility and creativity.
