We are looking for a registered clinical professional who is passionate about the development of others and has an interest in the design and delivery of mental health clinical skills training. While it would beneficial, this role does not require a background in education as you will be working with an established team who would benefit from your clinical experience and understanding of learning in the workplace.

You should have experience with clinical risk assessment in mental health services and be able to support the workforce in achieving proficiencies in practice. This role also has the potential to get involved in the development of innovative simulated learning relating to mental health practice and trialling emerging learning technologies.

A good candidate will have a strong clinical background that includes experience of assessing skills competence in specialist mental health clinical settings. They will demonstrate the ability to engage, support, motivate and lead others to deliver high quality care.

Additionally, you will support the leadership of our tutor team; ensuring they deliver an effective personal development/tutoring programme that has been designed to develop our pupils. The school has created a new provision; you will work with key staff to support the planning and implementation of the PSHEE aspect within it. You will be responsible for teaching, assessing, supporting and providing pupils with the required skills and qualifications to enhance their further education and/or employment prospects and ensure that effective transition arrangements are in place for both starters and leavers at the school and throughout their years within it. You will be expected to have knowledge of good practice in curriculum planning, development, assessment and evaluation of pupil progress, including: preparing pupils for externally accredited awards and qualifications, together with experience of CEIAG in a school setting and the Gatsby benchmarks. You should also be able to demonstrate knowledge of teaching across Key Stages, in particular proven experience of teaching pupils with SEND in secondary phase age groups (within mainstream or specialist settings). You will be expected to actively demonstrate the school’s core values. The Trainee Education Mental Health Practitioner role will: Work closely alongside a team of mental health professionals delivering a wide range of evidence informed interventions, under supervision. Develop and practice evidence-based skills under supervision to work directly with children, young people and families. Develop and practice evidence-based skills under supervision to carry out holistic and child-centred mental health assessments, including risk assessments. The Trainee Education Mental Health Practitioner is required to: Demonstrate the ability to study at degree level or have an equivalent level of relevant experience, with a proven record of previous learning or formal study in child development, wellbeing or mental health Graduate route (level 6) Applicants that may not hold an honours degree must have proven successful study at level 5; or successful part completion of an Honours degree Postgraduate route (level 7) Honours Degree graded at 2.2 or above Experience of working with children and young people, their families and others.
