The Lead LSP-Horizons role:
To work closely with LSP Coordinators in ensuring efficient day to day deployment of Learning Support Practitioners, providing LSP cover where required, delivering dyslexia support for students and undertaking EHCP Annual Reviews.
Key Responsibilities of our Lead LSP-Horizons:
Support Learning Support Practitioners across a specific curriculum areas.
Collaborate with teaching staff to ensure they met the needs of learners.
Provide targeted support to students with SEND, ensuring tailored interventions and progress monitoring.
Lead EHCP annual reviews
Oversee the progress reports and support plans.
Develop and deliver staff training to enhance support strategies within the classroom
Liaise with parents, carers, and external agencies to ensure comprehensive support for students.
Our ideal Lead LSP-Horizons should have the following qualifications, skills and experience:
Experience and understanding of the issues related to Additional Learning Support
Ability to recognize additional needs indicators in students and to act promptly upon them
Comprehensive knowledge of specialist support and how to maximise the impact of it to improve student retention and attainment
Level 2 or 3 qualification in a relevant subject area
Level 2 English or Maths (or equivalent)
SpLD qualification desirable

The purpose of the Learning Resource Officer (LRO) - Plumbing role is to provide technical support for staff and students.
Key Responsibilities of our Learning Resource Officer (LRO)-Plumbing:
Liaise closely with appropriate Curriculum Manager & Head of Department to ensure that the postholder’s support is directly relevant to the needs of the Directorate in which s/he is placed
Prepare materials and apparatus for demonstrations and practical work including examination requirements as directed.
Installation, checking and implementing new equipment and resources and ensuring correct operation.
The care and maintenance of tools, tool stocks, their issue to and collection from students.
Our ideal Learning Resource Officer (LRO)-Plumbing should have the following qualifications, skills and experience:
Have suitable formal qualifications in the relevant subject area up to level 2, including English and Maths
A Level 2 IT qualification would be desirable
Possess excellent interpersonal and team development skills and have the ability to contribute to the team and its goals. Be able to work independently and as a member of the team
Possess good IT and administrative skills and be able to keep accurate tracking records for tools and equipment
Be able to demonstrate use of equipment ensuring adherence to safe working practices
Recent and relevant experience of working in a motor vehicle training centre or similar establishment or working towards level 3 qualification in relevant subject, would be desirable.

Who are we looking for?

We are in search of a Learning Support Assistant to join our Education Centre Based in Chatham. The role is to assist and support teaching staff delivering a broad spectrum of academic and vocational subject areas within the classroom and around the centre.

We are a supportive and friendly team, who work together to ensure quality of our provision, within the local community to support the needs of the locality.

What will I be doing as a Learning Support Assistant?

A Learning Support Assistant plays a critical role in creating a positive learning environment to support learners in achieve their goals. You will ensure that learners receive high quality support to enable them to make good progress from their starting points.

Duties include (but are not limited to):

Identify and maintain focus on achievement of desired outcomes for learners across all subject areas looking at a variety of progression destinations to ensure they are preparing for and participating in suitable opportunities.


Have a good understanding of all learners' needs, including LDD/SEND and supportive strategies that are included in the group profile and initial assessment.

Actively engage and motivate learners in decisions that affect them whilst supporting the delivery of tailored programmes that cater for the specific needs, interests, and abilities of each individual learner

Provide feedback to teaching staff on progress of learners, against targets set, including qualifications and pastoral support needs.

Develop relationships and liaise with appropriate external agencies in support of learner's needs and work collaboratively in a multi-agency setting as required.


Requirements for this role:


Previous experience in supporting young people in an education setting is desirable

Experience of working with LLDD students with a SEN is desirable.

L2 English & Maths is essential.

An Enhanced with Barred Lists DBS check is essential.
