Hours per week: 37 Monday – Friday, normal working hours

The SEND Team Manager will lead and manage a team responsible for overseeing and coordinating special educational needs and disabilities (SEND) provision within a local authority or educational institution.
Key Responsibilities:
Responsibility for completing EHC Needs Assessments and overseeing Annual Reviews for the existing 2000 EHC Plans for children and young people.
Lead and managing a team responsible for coordinating and overseeing SEND provision.
Allocate resources and ensure effective utilisation to meet the needs of students with SEND.
Oversee the assessment and identification process for students' special educational needs and disabilities.
Coordinate the development and implementation of Individual Education Plans (IEPs) for students.
Collaborate with schools, teachers, and external agencies to provide appropriate support and services.
Ensure compliance with legal requirements and policies related to SEND provision.
Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of interventions and support strategies.
Provide guidance and support to team members, promoting professional development.
Facilitate effective communication and collaboration among stakeholders.
Represent the team and liaise with senior management, local authorities, and governing bodies.
Keep abreast of changes in legislation, policies, and best practices in SEND provision.
Qualifications:
Educated to post graduate level.
Skills & Experience:
Minimum of 12 months recent experience in a similar role, or context and ideally within a public sector organisation.
Experience of working with young people with a wide range of Special Educational Needs and Disabilities.
Must be familiar with SEND and EHCP processes and systems.
Management experience to enable them to provide management and oversight of a team of case officers who work in partnership with stakeholders and families to achieve positive casework outcomes for children and young people.
Strong knowledge of special educational needs and disabilities (SEND).
Familiarity with relevant legislation and policies related to SEND provision.
Analytical and problem-solving abilities to address challenges in SEND provision.
Ability to oversee the assessment and identification process for students' needs.
Knowledge of effective intervention strategies and support services for SEND students.
Strong IT skills including Microsoft packages or equivalent (e.g. G Suite).
