What you'll be working: Monday - Friday This role is a remote role with requirements to travel to sites regularly in the North. *** This is a nurse qualified role - LEARNING DISABILITY *** What you'll be doing: Support (including initiating developments) learning disabilities services within the region through service visits, review of support plans and clinical cabinets. In collaboration with the PBS team support services in training and implementation of individual PBS plans and interventions. Initiate, lead or participate in the planning, implementation and evaluation of needs led innovations within the region e.g., training packages, policy development. Ensure services are delivering person centre care as evidence by measurable clinical outcomes. Promote positive health care and maintenance of good health, through the education of clients and their families/carers. Participate in the setting, auditing and maintenance of standards, intended to improve resident care and service provision. Provide clinical expertise to individuals with more complex health needs. To ensure that office finance and information systems are accurately and contemporaneously maintained, quality assuring data working with a high attention to detail and innovatively to ensure optimum efficiency. Key member of the education and learning team with specific responsibility for the administration and co-ordination of all CPD activities within the Trust. Process all education commissioned related invoices for the education and learning department and prepare for onward authorisation in a timely manner. Maintaining and updating CPD commissioning databases on a weekly basis. General administration To update relevant systems to reflect completed competencies from eLearning completion. Be the first point of contact for all enquiries relating to Leadership and Organisational Development, whether in person, by phone or via email, using discretion on the redirection of learners where necessary and providing advice where appropriate. The post holder will work closely with the principal investigator, clinical and research teams to co-ordinate and deliver research within the Paediatric Clinical Trials unit, NIHR Biomedical Research Centre at Moorfields Eye Hospital. The post holder will deliver a high standard of clinical care and be able to work as an independent autonomous practitioner. Research specific duties, include: To be responsible for co-ordinating and delivering research trial within the Paediatric Clinical Trials unit, NIHR Biomedical Research Centre at Moorfields Eye Hospital and UCL Institute of Ophthalmology. Undertake the screening, identification and recruitment of eligible participants to relevant trials according to trial protocol and organisation SOPs. Provide relevant information to prospective participants and taking of informed consent (and assent where appropriate). Deliver a high standard of clinical care, while adhering to research protocol, for all patients eligible for and recruited to clinical trials. Adhere to the principles of Good Clinical Practice (GCP). Manage the clinical trial documentation including maintenance of site file(s). Provide orthoptic support, where necessary, to clinical trials within Moorfields Clinical Research Facility. Act as research contact regarding paediatric clinical trials for both patients and the wider clinical team. Maintain good and open communication with the clinical team to facilitate the identification and recruitment of potentially eligible participants. Maintain accurate and detailed record keeping in format adhering to trial protocol and local SOPs. Present research findings at relevant scientific meetings. Provide orthoptic input to the development of protocols and grant applications. Network with other researchers and build collaboration. Facilitate effective communication or research study information with all relevant research team. Have a high level of computer literacy and basic programming. Support orthoptists and other members of the clinical team in their roles in clinical research studies. Support and encouraging engagement with clinical research. Provide discharge and follow-up advice.
