This post is for a qualified Education Mental Health Practitioners (EMHP) who has completed the Child and Young Persons (CYP) Improving Access to Psychological Therapies (IAPT) course. The EMHP will have skills in assessment and treatment in delivering low intensity evidence-based interventions with CYP presenting with anxiety, low mood and behavioural difficulties. The EMHP will also deliver whole school approaches with a strong emphasis on participation with young people, their families and carers. This vacancy sits within our Bristol Team.

General Duties: Maintain and update training and education management systems for audit and reporting purposes. (Training will be provided). Co ordinate course venues, refreshments and course resources ensuring accurate information is shared with attendees. Providing administrative support to L&D Trainers and Clinical Fellows, which can include reports, organising meetings, and occasional minute taking Responding to general enquiries coming into the office including, telephone, face to face, written inquiries and email, taking & passing on messages as required. Behaving courteously and efficiently at all times, ensuring a positive approach to any difficulties, and that all callers are responded to promptly and politely. Act as a liaison and contact point for the education, training and management team. Deal courteously with staff, patients, relatives and members of the public whilst maintaining confidentiality. Receiving, processing and sorting post, ensuring that it is passed on to the relevant staff member as soon as possible; ensuring that outgoing post is posted on a daily basis. Ensuring that all work done is consistent, and in line with agreed pro-forma, to ensure that all materials originating from the departments are of high quality, giving a professional and reliable service to all staff. Liaise and provide administration support to the Apprenticeship Co-ordinator as required. Liaise with other internal and external services as appropriate . Secretarial and Clerical Support: Prioritise and organise own workload Copy and audio typing of letters and reports as required. Maintain an accurate and comprehensible filing system (paper and electronic). Co-ordinate statistical data and general information as required Maintain up-to-date on line and paper diaries as required. Set up meetings and provide support to book rooms, collate papers. To take minutes (or notes) and produce and disseminate as appropriate. Maintain and order stationery supplies and other stores. Clinical The reception, diagnosis and emergency treatment of patients presenting to the adult Emergency Department. The successful candidate will be given supervision and support from senior medical staff to develop competency in the autonomous clinical management of these patients whilst ensuring patient safety. This post is based in the adult Emergency Department and no sessions will be undertaken in the paediatric Emergency Department. There is close liaison between ED and ICU at BRI. Patients referred to Specialist Units within the hospital are the responsibility of that specialist team, who will see the patient in the Emergency Department and arrange appropriate care. However, medical and nursing staff in the ED are responsible for any emergency care necessary. This shared care is seamless and collaborative. Managerial The management responsibility of the post holder will be to the Clinical Director who is responsible to the Chief Executive and Trust Board. Clinical Audit and Clinical Governance The post holder must be aware of clinical governance and clinical risk management and take an active part in their implementation, including audit. Clinical audit is established at the BRI. They will participate in at least one supervised audit project during the 12 month post and will be encouraged to attend interdisciplinary clinical governance meetings On-Call Commitment In ED the roster is a full shift system. Shifts are a balanced mix of earlies, mids, lates, and nights. The posts pay will be calculated by HR and will be compliant with the new regulations set in Aug 2017.

To understand and apply in practice the legal and regulatory requirements related to gaining and maintaining valid informed consent. This will include, where appropriate, children, young people, and vulnerable adults. Project manage the assignments to ensure all visits, observations, and interventions with the participants in accordance with the procedures and schedule of the study protocol. Acts in the best interests of the research subjects to ensure their rights are upheld. Ensure Protocol amendments are incorporated into research practice. Acts as an expert resource for staff in relation to the financial management of clinical research studies. Uses expert judgement in relation to competing demands for funding / resources Acts as an expert resource to PIs in ensuring all Adverse Events and Serious adverse events are reported in line with ICH-GCP, ISO 14155 and Trust policy. Is expected to identify any blockages to recruitment and the running of the trial and work with R+D, and where appropriate liaise with the NIHR Clinical Research Network, to identify strategies to mitigate them. Ensure that all equipment used in all the trials are appropriately calibrated and be responsible for the retention of supporting documentation. Support the PI in ensuring all reporting to regulatory bodies and Research Networks (if applicable) is done in a timely manner. Be responsible for ensuring the submission of monthly recruitment / accrual figures to the appointed person at NBT / NIHR Clinical Research Network Works within the range of research guidelines, ethical principles, and protocols, whilst adhering to organisational policies and procedures. Always observes the confidentiality of patient information, in accordance with the Data Protection Act and Caldicott regulations. Communicates to R+D / NIHR Clinical Research Network lead regarding research subjects, trial progress, workload issues and personal development.

To provide comprehensive administration and clerical support to the management and Medical Education faculty to ensure all educational projects deliver the Trusts plans and priorities. The role will also provide administration support to the wider Medical Education faculty, which will involve diary management, minute taking and meetings preparation and management of the team email account.
