Candidates must have previous experience within a clerical environment (previous NHS experience is desirable) and have excellent communication skills. It is important that the successful candidate has a pleasant and courteous disposition, a polite telephone manner with a flexible attitude towards the demands of this post.

We are looking for a person who can work well under pressure and remain calm and confident in difficult situations. The successful candidate will work days, evenings and weekends on different shift patterns to meet the demands of the Outpatient Department service requirements.

The successful applicants will be based on Clinic Reception in the busy Outpatients Department.

Duties include: accurate data inputting, making appointments using the Hospital Information System, responding efficiently and effectively to telephone calls and liaising with staff in the clinic including Doctors, Secretaries, Nurses and any other relevant staff. Keyboard skills are essential; full IT training will be given. The role may be demanding at times.

KEY DUTIES

· As a receptionist you must greet patients’, visitors’, and colleagues in a polite manner.

· Register all patient health record supplements (HRS) movements on the PAS system. Including dispatching HRS notes to other locations within the Hospital and receiving HRS notes into clinic areas.

· Deal with patients and their relatives in a friendly and sympathetic manner and attend in-house Customer Care Workshop.

· Give general advice to patients in relation to their appointments or re-direct to an appropriate department.

· Arrange ambulance transport for patients when required on the Patient Transport System (PTS).

The Trust is seeking a consultant psychiatrist to join Knowsley Resource and Recovery Centre.

The Recovery team is a multi-disciplinary team which provides evidence based, timely, safe, readily accessible, specialist, comprehensive assessments and specialist psychosocial and pharmacological interventions for service users in Knowsley over the age of 18 years who experience significant and enduring mental health difficulties, who require ongoing support, care and treatment.

The team has moved away from traditional models of working where clinics are booked for the consultant weeks in advance and there is a distinction between Non-CPA and CPA patients. With transformation we have successfully moved to a more MDT working where the consultant role is one to support the team with increased role for other skill mix including Advanced Nurse Practitioners, Structured Clinical Management Practitioners, psychologists, Clinical pharmacists and Occupational therapists. The team concentrates on Clinical pathway working where needs are identified in MDT meetings to decide which pathway will be best suited for the patient and which team member is most suitable to give the intervention.

The Team facilitates the process of assessment and intervention following Care Clustering – facilitating a needs-led care framework.

There is no inpatient commitment. The team provides a service to clients from 9am – 5pm, Monday to Friday.

Undertaking referrals from inpatient services, A&E and the access team.

As a Support Coach you will work with individuals and groups of students to remove obstacles to learning and develop skills they need to achieve. Working with the Director of KS4, SENDCO, teaching staff and outreach service staff, you will put together packages of support for students that improve their achievement by meeting their learning needs. You will develop students’ emotional intelligence, relationship skills and resilience to prepare them for their next steps. You will use your expertise to support the learning needs of our ASC (Autistic Spectrum Condition) students in addition to all other students. How is the Studio Different?

A Studio School is a new kind of school for 14 to 19 year olds of all abilities. They have been started to help close the gap between what young people need to succeed in life and the skills and knowledge that the current education system provides. Studio Schools use the latest ways of learning based on real world enterprise projects and real work.

• The school day runs from 9:00am to 4:00pm for students and 8:45 to 5:00 for staff
• Staff are trained as professional coaches and use this to coach individuals and groups of students
• Studio Schools are small with a maximum of 300 students (75 in each year group)
• Students follow familiar GCSE, BTEC and AS/A Level subjects including the core subjects of English, Maths and Science through carefully designed and highly demanding Project Based Learning
• Project Based Learning is a key feature of the Studio with different subject areas collaborating to devise, deliver and assess project and map their curricula to them. There are also discrete lessons for most subject areas.
• Curriculum content is determined and shaped in partnership with employers and universities

The post holder will support the provision of high-quality learning environments within the Trust for newly appointed registrants. They will be required to work locally within clinical services where learning opportunities can be identified, promoted and delivered. The post holder will be required to contribute to the Quality Assurance of learning opportunities for new registrants. It will be a requirement of the role to recognise any learner who is not achieving the required standards and escalate concerns to the service lead. The post holder will have responsibilities to support the wider educational team.

KEY DUTIES
• Supporting the induction of new registrants including those recruited through return to practice and the internationally recruited workforce.
• Developing the quality of the learning environment for newly appointed registrants, determining interventions necessary to support those staff meet the required learning outcomes.
• Support the development of clinical practice supervision and support structures for Preceptors and mentors.
• Undertaking Quality Assurance visits across the organisation in relation to the workplace development of new registrants.
• Support the development, co-coordination, evaluation and implementation of education programs for the Preceptee’s, including preceptorship induction and ongoing study sessions.
• Work with managers/service leads of new registrants within the Trust, to identify any additional support requirements including pastoral support and work with these leads/mentors to create personal development plans related to the role of the appointee and agree deadlines for completion as and when required.
• Work in partnership with Higher Education partners. For example, contributing to curriculum development, validation and review to meet the continuing development needs of qualified and unqualified non-medical clinical staff.



CLINICAL & PROFESSIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES

· Support the structure, design and facilitate the delivery of learning opportunities for new registrants and other staff groups who are new to the Trust.

· Produce and maintain a portfolio of education in practice activity within service area(s). For example, structured professional learning activities, teaching packages

· Support the development, implementation and review of education in practice learning environments for new registrants.

· Act as an expert resource/ Champion of Learning in practice, supporting managers to ensure the delivery of a high-quality learning experience for staff appropriate to their role.

· Ensure communication channels are used appropriately to facilitate the flow of information between internal and external partners.

· Ensure that confidentiality is maintained at all times in conjunction with organisational policies.

· Collaborate with service managers to ensure academic rigor in practice learning is maintained; learning outcomes can be met and are aligned with Service need and reconfigurations.

· Continuously monitor practice learning activities against quality assurance standards enabling on-going enhancement of the learning experience for newly appointed staff.



ADMINISTRATIVE RESPONSIBILITIES

· Prepare and support managers in the delivery of practice-based education action plans for new registrants.

· Keep up to date in research and development relevant to education in practice and the clinical learning environment.

· Develop and maintain up to date and accurate records and live registers of those staff undertaking development in the practice setting as part of the Preceptorship, and other programmes described in this job description.

· Develop a process to inform and enable ‘shared evidence’ and format to enhance the responsiveness and delivery of a single Quality Assurance process.

· Monitor numbers of new registrants who require additional support, and student complaints to highlight trends and inform action planning. Liaise with the Clinical Education Support Team Nurse Lead, Ward Managers and Education Links to develop appropriate action plans to support these staff.

· Provide pastoral support to new registrants.

· Liaise with Information Service departments within Placement Providers, including Library Services, to inform resource requirements and widen access to facilities.



TEACHING & TRAINING RESPONSIBILITIES

· Evaluate the effectiveness of any practice learning experience for new registrants, recommending any changes and improvements.

· Work with colleagues in the wider clinical education team to develop innovative educational opportunities to support non-medical clinical recruits in areas such as simulation and multi-professional learning.

· Collaborate with service managers to align placement learning and operational experience to learning outcomes.

· Network locally, regionally and nationally with peer group to support the sharing of best practice.

· Work closely with the wider clinical education team to ensure classroom-based learning is aligned to placement learning.
