We are seeking a candidate in BCP group for Roche R&D lab (Lead Discovery). The candidate will be responsible in cellular and biochemical assay screening for compound profiling.
MAJOR JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (List in order of importance)
- Participate in in vitro assays to support drug discovery projects
- Perform compound profiling and screen
- Maintain an accurate and record all necessary information
- Maintain a safe and organized work environment and comply with relevant SOPs
- Evaluate and learn new assay technologies in drug discovery under the instruction of supervisors.
QUALIFICATIONS (Education/Training, Experience and Certifications)
- Candidates should be studying the bachelor or master degree in biology, biochemistry, cell biology, molecular biology or related fields.
- Ability to understand assays and the relevance to the drug targets of interest.
- The ability to understand the design and to perform different types of assays.
- Basic understanding of biochemical, and cell-based assays
- Work schedule flexibility to accommodate the cell biology experimental constrains.
- Flexibility reporting to different supervisors to accommodate project needs.
- MS Office computer skill is a plus.
KNOWLEDGE SKILLS AND ABILITIES (Those necessary to perform the job competently)
- Conform to all customer requirements for background checks, health and safety issues, security clearances and medical checkups
- Requires knowledge in using various instruments to prepare for and perform tests
- Strong communication skills
- Excellent Customer Service Skills; display a professional can-do attitude
- Perform duties with the highest regard for safety and quality
- Ability to understand and follow site protocols, policies and procedures
- Must be flexible, forward- thinking, motivated, and have the ability to act independently
- Basic computer skills including Microsoft Office with proficiency in Word and Excel
- Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines
- Knowledge of VWR’s products and services
- Problem-solving skills

Associates use both hands for repetitive actions such as grasping and manipulating as well as both feet for repetitive movement operating foots controls. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
