We have vacancies in both Key Stage 3 or Key Stage 4 at our secondary Alternative Provision in Slough and in our Millside School SEMH Specialist School, assisting pupils in overcoming barriers to learning.

Haybrook College educates young people aged 11 to 16 who have challenging and complex Social, Emotional, and Mental Health difficulties (SEMH) or medical needs. We have multiple provisions providing bespoke, child-centred and high quality education programmes, which aim to ensure that all the students individual educational needs are met. We offer provision for a range of students across KS3 to KS4, as a result of SEND, Managed Moves, Permanent Exclusions or out of area placements.

Our ideal candidate will:

• Have experience working with either small groups or 1:1 with students who may have complex social and emotional difficulties, may demonstrate challenging behaviour or who may have Special Educational Needs. This may be as a mentor, teaching assistant, youth worker or other support role.
• Be able to mentor students with a confident and positive approach to motivate and engage them in their learning.
• Be able to remain calm in challenging circumstances, providing a safe and positive learning environment and de-escalating any threatening or aggressive behaviour.

About the Role

As a Maintenance Person for Maria Mallaband care group you will be part the care homes team and as such work with other staff to ensure the safety of all the Service Users, visitors and employees. The work can be both physically and mentally demanding. Predominately the job is about Health and Safety checks of the building, environment and equipment. We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Neighbourhood Officer to join a team based in Slough, for a full time, temporary contract with an initial contract period of 3 months. Role Expectations

• Identify opportunities for service improvements and make recommendations to the Neighbourhood Lead/Neighbourhood Manager
• Ensure that all complaints, incidents of ASB and harassment are investigated and dealt with in accordance with policies and procedures
• Assist in developing annual service plans and programs of work for Housing teams
• Monitor budgets for which you are responsible within timescales and ensure expenditure is in accordance with budget, procedures and levels of delegated authority and audit requirements and take action when discrepancies occur
• Participate in the delivery of an out of hours service, undertake temporary relief emergency cover including participation in the emergency plan
• Work in partnership with key stakeholders and represent the council on key groups when necessary.

The pay range for the role is £23.00 to £25.00 per hour LTD company rate. The PAYE equivalent is £19.61 to £21.31 per hour, inclusive of holiday.

Can you make a difference to students finding mainstream challenging?

Slough and Eton is looking to relaunch our Shepherd Centre in January 2025 and as such we are looking for a qualified teacher to successfully lead and manage the Centre. The Shepherd Centre will offer a small group of our students, that have found learning in a large, mainstream secondary school challenging, time in a smaller setting on site. They have a personalised curriculum designed to help them be ready to reintegrate successfully back into the mainstream. The curriculum helps them to re-learn successful behaviours for learning whilst continuing to access the wider curriculum.

You would be expected to lead on all aspects of the Centre, including internal referrals, providing the lead on a personalised curriculum and planning the successful reintegration back into mainstream lessons and the school.
