The Advanced Medical Support Assistant (AMSA) interact with both internal and external customers providing exceptional customer service and ensuring overall customer satisfaction. Candidates will be reviewed for minimum qualifications as outlined in the qualifications section of this announcement and referred to the Greater Los Angeles VA Health Care System AMSA Interview panel. Ideal candidates resumes must be skilled in customer service, identify customer concerns, customer satisfaction and resolution, ability to operate computer programs, and scheduling of appointments. • Participates in ongoing quality improvement workplace activities, including conducting unit audits, as appropriate to the individual's position, education and practice environment.
• Participates in PACT performance measure activities such as, but not limited to, non-complex 2-day post discharge calls, clinical reminder compliance, aspects of chronic disease management.
• Participates in daily and/or weekly PACT huddles.

• Serve as a delivery driver to deliver pizza on base
• Set up buffet/food lines, steam tables, dinning room tables, and side service stands with hot and cold food items including meats, vegetables, salads, desserts, bread, butter and beverages
• May serve food by placing portions of food on customer's plates. Brews coffee according to the number of servings required. Assemble and toss fresh fruit or green salads in quantity using prepared dressings and portion into standard serving sizes. Portions other food items (e.g., gelatins, juices and desserts) into standard serving sizes using the proper utensils and containers. Makes sandwiches using prepared ingredients.
• Break down and cleaning assigned area when the meal is finished and return food to the main kitchen.
• Sets up and operates a mechanical dishwasher, including the continuous conveyor belt-feeding dishwasher. Removes inspection doors, strainer pans, screens and spray arms for preventive maintenance and cleaning.
• Scrapes, soaks, scour and scrubs the heavier cooking utensils such as mixing bowls and pots, which because of their large size and weight are awkward to handle.
• Performs heavy-duty cleaning tasks in food service areas, such as cleaning ceilings and transoms; exhaust hoods; spaces under and behind kitchen equipment, including moving the equipment; washing floors and walls with powered cleaning equipment; cleaning walk-in refrigerators and freezers; and sanitizing garbage rooms.
• May unload food from delivery trucks. Move heavy garbage cans when collecting and transferring trash from the work area to the disposal area.

The Chief Nurse executes leadership that is characterized by substantial and continuous responsibility and accountability for population groups or integrated programs that cross service and/or discipline lines, influence organizational mission and health care. The Nurse IV is responsible for administrative functions of their assigned nursing units/programs. Functions as an administrator, educator, and consultant utilizing management theory in collaboration with VISN, Chief of Staff, Patient Care Services and other services. Must establish and maintain effective relationships with all levels of medical center personnel and relate effectively with customers, families, and the community as well as program and service leaders at the local and network levels. Key relationships with staff are needed to (1) Assist nurse managers and advanced practitioners to carry out the functions and activities expected of them, (2) Contribute ideas and recommendations for the establishment of standards of care, policies, and objectives for the enhancement of nursing organization-wide, (3) Assist in policy-making activities as related to customer service and the overall functioning of administrative and clinical programs, and (4) Collaborate with other health care staff to establish and maintain programs that cross service and/or discipline lines and influence organizational mission and health care.

She/he assumes accountability for administrative functions for these areas and is responsible for planning, developing, implementing, directing, and evaluating the overall program and functions therein including staffing and budget accountability. As Chief Nurse in Primary Care, she/ he is responsible for all processes, performance measures and other metrics that support Quality Care and Access. She/he supports and facilitates outreach that provides access to exemplary care that is fully integrated across the continuum. She/he is fully committed to continually improving Primary Care and related services. This Chief Nurse partners with Nurse and Physician Colleagues, Clinical and Administrative Chiefs of Service, and Administrative and Clinical Directors to achieve the goals and performance measures of VHA, VISN 21, and SFVAHCS by ensuring the highest quality care and expert Nursing Practice is provided in all areas. Duties include, but are not limited to:

• Observes patient status and keeps licensed personnel informed of any change in condition.

Leads a team responsible for development of a MAS Solicitation Change Package, to include GSA form 1649, for each recommended change that will be sponsored by the MAS Solicitation Management Team. 

Advises and supports implementation of the Supply Chain Risk Management strategy for the MAS Program and supports implementation of the MAS Communications plan for the MAS Program.

Serves as alternate to the MAS Solicitation Contracting Officer, holding a GSA Senior Unlimited Acquisition Warrant - Level IV, capable of executing CO authority for the MAS Solicitation.

Evaluates resource requirements for the proper performance of MAS contract award and administration  functions, recommends allocation of FAS resources across MAS contracting activities within each portfolio.

Manages the human resources of the MAS Solicitation Management Team. Establishes organizational structure, allocates work force and financial allocations and delegates authority and responsibility as needed. 

Ensures contracting officers on the MAS Solicitation Management Team are warranted, meet educational requirements and adhere to applicable regulations/laws and receive required continuing education/training.
