If so, you may then have the qualities we are looking for to become our new Cleaning Assembling Operative at the Joint Equipment Loan Service (JELS), Perth.
The Joint Equipment Loan Service (JELS) provides a priority-driven delivery, fitting and collection service throughout Perth & Kinross; supplying equipment to meet the assessed needs of service users with physical disabilities, and acute and chronic illness.
Do you have the ability to work under pressure, prioritise, and problem solve?
If so, the equipment provided supports hospital discharge and prevents hospital admission by maximising the service user's independence within their home environment while supporting their rehabilitation and/or improving safety in their home. Equipment is also supplied to support end of life situations.
This equipment includes daily living aids that assist with toileting, bathing, showering and household activities to pressure care mattresses and cushions, profiling beds and mobile hoists.
This is a great opportunity for an enthusiastic and motivated person to work as part of our busy team ensuring all of the equipment is refurbished to the highest standard in order to be reassigned to others.
Do you have the ability to identify, manage and mitigate potential risks to self and others, by applying existing guidelines, seeking advice when required?
If so, this post does involve manual handling work and you must be able to carry out the physical demands of the post.
The ability to work with minimal supervision and follow approved policies and procedures is essential due to the lone working aspect of the role, you will also have the opportunity to work as part of the established team and it would be of benefit if you have good team working skills along with a customer focused approach to work.
A knowledge of Occupational Therapy and Community Nursing equipment is desirable; however, training will be given as to the range of daily living aids and medical equipment issued into the Community.
The role involves working out of our JELS store based in the Inveralmond Industrial Estate, Perth.
