We are looking for an enthusiastic and compassionate Clinical / Counselling Psychologist or experienced CBT Therapist to join the UCLH Staff Psychology & Welfare Service (SPWS). SPWS is well-established within the Trust and the post-holder will join a friendly multi-disciplinary team of clinical and counselling psychologists, psychotherapists, counsellors and mediators.

This is an exciting and critically important time to work in this area, helping to support our diverse hospital workforce to cope with the impact of, and recover from the pandemic as well as the ongoing nature of healthcare work in acute hospital settings.

While this provision has been in place for over 20 years at UCLH, the demand for the service has risen considerably in recent years. The covid-19 pandemic has further increased the need for individual and team level staff support. The Staff Psychology Service continues to address these needs, offering prompt access to highly specialist assessment and a range of evidence-based psychological interventions for staff. It is also part of the wider recovery programme and long term health and wellbeing agenda at UCLH.

We work closely with our workforce colleagues in Staff Experience, Training & Development and alongside our Staff Networks to encourage long term and sustainable cultural change within the organisation. We aim to reduce stigma, increase engagement in self care and organisational support to help our staff thrive at work and in their personal lives. Our team is expanding in response to the psychosocial needs of staff emerging during the coronavirus pandemic and will aim to support the recovery of the organisation and staff following the pandemic based on our trauma informed stepped-care approach. The post-holder will offer individual and group sessions to UCLH staff both remotely and onsite, as well as a range of workshop and seminars on mental health and wellbeing.

Further details about the role

As Learning Support Assistant, your responsibilities will include:

• Attending to the child's personal needs and implementing related personal programmes, including social, health, physical hygiene and welfare matters
• Working with the class teacher and Inclusion Manager to support the implementation of person centred planning and targets for SEND children
• Liaising with appropriate external SEND or health professionals to ensure that advice on provision for individual SEND children is effectively implemented
• Supervising and support SEND children ensuring their safety and access to learning
• Establishing good relationships with all children, acting as a role model and being aware of and responding appropriately to individual needs
• Promoting the inclusion and acceptance of all children

As part of making reasonable adjustments, it will sometimes be necessary to direct LSAs to support children's intimate care needs in line with the academy Intimate Care Policy and to maintain their health, safety and personal dignity.

Permanent, Full-time (Flexitime)

Responsibilities:
• Assisting the person with meal preparation, feeding, and grooming
• Assisting with bathing, laundry, and light housekeeping
• Administering medication
• Providing companionship

Requirements:
• Experience handling a person with autism
• You must be caring, compassionate, loving, and kind
• Experience working with an autistic young adult (an added advantage)
