Senior Analyst - Customer Insights

Job Details

• Responsible for the accuracy of ETL (extract, transform and load) processes for Customer Insight data ingestion, transformation, cleaning and modelling, ensuring alignment with analytics functions across the wider business
  
• Responsible for setting and maintaining process for data quality and integrity, through various testing, monitoring and validation techniques
  
• Working with big data on our data and analytical platforms, developing complex SQL queries integrating customer data with operational and commercial datasets.
  
• Generating Insight that identifies improvement opportunities in-line with business goals through root cause analysis
  
• Building data products and tools that enable business teams and analytical functions to drive value, ensuring products are accessible, well documented and easy to use
  
• Responsible for engagement between data consumers and data engineering teams, interpreting requirements and helping shape the business' data strategy
  

Skills we would love you to have

• Extensive experience of working as an analyst in a corporate environment
  
• Proven background in owning and delivering analytical projects, structuring analysis and deliverables to ensure stakeholder requirements are met - displaying great verbal and written communication with the ability to tell a story using the data
  
• Strong skills in the use of MS Office applications (Excel and PowerPoint), programming languages (SQL, R, Python, Embles, SAS) and Visualisation Tools (Power BI)

Start Date: January 2025Salary Details: Grade 5. This attracts a salary range of £23,118 to £23,505 per annum, awarded on a pro-rata basis. Your starting salary would be approximately £12,775.01 (Pay Point 7).
Hours of work: 30 hours per week, term-time only for an initial period of 6 weeks

Hours: 20 hours per week

Working: Remote

Contract: 3 months on going

Rate: £22-£23 per hour (umbrella/limited)

Key Responsibilities:

1. Treasury Management & Strategy

• Develop and manage an annual Treasury Management Strategy, reporting on progress quarterly.
• Work with treasury advisors to ensure compliance with regulations, managing cash securely and efficiently.

Financial Compliance & Prudential Indicators

• Calculate and monitor prudential indicators under the Prudential Code for Capital Finance.
• Oversee the Minimum Revenue Provision (MRP) policy and ensure alignment with capital spending plans.

Cash Flow & Forecasting

• Develop cash flow and longer-term balance sheet forecasts to ensure liquidity and financial stability.

Investment & Borrowing

• Appraise and recommend investment and borrowing options, optimizing costs and returns.

Reporting & Accounting

• Draft treasury-related disclosures for the council's Statement of Accounts.
• Prepare statistical returns as required.

Insurance Function

• Ensure adequate insurance cover and manage claims effectively.

Ad-Hoc Financial Tasks

• Support accounting, risk management, and other finance-related projects as directed.
