A client within the public sector based in Greater Manchester is currently recruiting for a Fire Safety Manager to join their team as soon as possible. The client is offering a full time, contract position with the ideal candidate having experience of working within a local authority environment.

The Role

Key purpose of the role is to undertake all fire safety management duties, manage the FRA remedial works programme, act as the lead for property fires, liaise with GMFRS for and to work with the Building Safety Manager

Key responsibilities will include but not be limited to:

• Ensure the effective delivery of all fire safety works are completed to a high level of customer satisfaction, to a standard of legal compliance.
• Providing assurance to the Head of Design & Delivery, Executive Management team and the relevant Corporate Board and the Housing Advisory Board on all fire safety compliance matters.
• Support and advise on procurement of contractors for fire safety works, drafting work specifications and quality standards where needed.
• Participate on tender of valuation and contractor selection as required.
• Providing on going advice on the competency of contractors to undertake works and ensuring robust contract management of the selected contractors by monitoring quality of work to determine compliance with fire safety legislation and guidance.

The Candidate

To be considered for this role you will require current knowledge of relevant legislation, ideally with experience of practical application.

It will be essential to be in experiences in the below:

• organised and methodical with a logical approach to building and fire safety.
• team player who can work effectively with internal teams, external agencies and residents with the focus being on building and fire safety.
• self-starter, with great IT skills who can produce reports and statistical data that provide good information that improves understanding

The client is looking to move quickly with this role and as such are offering £300 - 400 p/d Umbrella Ltd. (approx. £240 - £320 p/d PAYE)

Principal Accountabilities: 

• Install and maintain Polarion, 3DS, Jama, R4J or other requirements management system on the existing infrastructure.
• Understand business requirements for access to real-time data via Polarion Reports.
• Design and develop live-page reports in Polarion
• Pro-active support Engineers with Polarion reports usage, traceability reports, requirements management
• Coach the reports creation according best practices, tool performance and aSPICE compliant.
• Offer online training for Engineering staff regarding Polarion configuration & usage.
• Understand & drive end-to-end architecture for optimal performance of Reports system
• Be the gatekeeper for required changes in the reports, with respect to corporate compliance to standard.

As a Conservation Program Specialist your duties will include but are not limited to the following:

• Develops draft and final policy, regulations, and legislation that better provide management tools and guidance to program staff, resulting in more effective and efficient conservation delivery. This includes Federal Register documents and any other supporting material needed to support development of policy, regulations and other public notifications.
• Coordinate development and approvals of policy and regulatory packages for the program, providing technical expertise and process management with minimal supervision.
• Lead national teams and committees composed of regional office and field staff to obtain input into implementation of regulations, policies, and planning. These teams meet weekly and development of agendas, meeting notes, and teeing up issues for group discussions are imperative.

Independently reviews tax liability issues, reviews data, identifies and addresses potential tax issues; explores issues to determine nature, scope and direction of inquiries; evaluates alternative courses of action to resolve issues/problems; develops marketing plans and products.
• With some guidance, plans, prepares and conducts, or arranges for leveraged partners to conduct, a variety of innovative and customized seminars, speeches, workshops and feedback sessions that highlight IRS benefits emerging issues and new legislation to targeted audiences. Delivers objectives through a portfolio of partners, requiring customized marketing strategies to promote voluntary compliance.
• Conducts studies and surveys to evaluate marketing efforts for demographic or customer segment assigned in order to measure and maintain quality of tax products and information disseminated. Adjusts marketing practices or techniques according to data collected and/or customer feedback related to agency compliance activities.
