Purpose of this role

The Lead Advanced Medical Support Assistant (AMSA)/Ward Clerk collaborates and communicates with a wide range of medical clinicians across multiple disciplines (e.g., medical doctors, nurse practitioners, physician assistants, psychologists, psychiatrists, social workers, clinical pharmacist, and nursing staff) to accomplish team goal setting to ensure medical care to patients is met.

The Lead AMSA/Ward Clerk performs administrative, receptionist, and other duties as assigned for the proper and timely treatment of patients on inpatient wards. • Prepare, edit, and finalize correspondence for office supervisors and managers.
• Provide assistance in the completion of records reviews, inventories, and dispositions in accordance with records schedule. Provide assistance organizing the district records library.
• Process daily incoming and out-going mail.
• Provide general information about the office and the lands managed by the Coos Bay District to the public both orally and in writing.
• Provide back-up manning for front reception desk operations.
• Host meetings and training classes.
• Prepare conference rooms or other venues for Timber Sales, or meetings of all kinds.
