My public sector client is looking for a Business Support Officer to provide support within their Legal Services Directorate, where the successful candidate will play an integral part in assisting the organisations directorate (including Director and Assistant Directors) to manage their time and work effectively, so that they can focus on their priorities. This is a potential 6 month temporary assignment Monday to Friday paying £12.62 p/hr, full time 37.00 hours a week, 9.00am to 5.00pm and this role will be a hybrid role, with three days on site and two working from home.

As a Business Support Officer, you will be responsible for the below tasks-

• Diary management - actively the Senior Management Team's appointments, sending meeting invites, chasing responses and accepting/declining invites as appropriate. Working closely with the SMT to ensure their diaries are aligned with key priorities
• Producing briefing notes and drafting presentations for the SMT to use when attending a range of senior leader meetings
• Providing ad-hoc administrative support as required e.g. co-ordination of meetings, taking minutes, production of correspondence and distribution etc
• Travel - arranging and booking travel/accommodation for the SMT and their team as required
• Making all appropriate arrangements for attendance at offices, including desk booking and room bookings for meetings
• Forming an effective working relationship with the administrative teams and EAs of other senior staff - ensuring appropriate channels of communications with the Director
• Working alongside the Business Support Team, in particular working closely with the Director's Executive Assistant and supporting wider functions within the team
• Analysing and updating Management Information, liaising and supporting the wider team for missing data

Your new role
Housing Repairs BCC is the largest local authority in Europe and have a responsibility to maintain their properties and report emergency or non-emergency repairs in line with the agreements between the council and contractors. Housing repairs also assist and provide information to the Rents department in order for tenants to keep up with their rental payments and other responsibilities such as council tax so that the council can support them. Working hours are Monday to Friday 8am - 8pm on a shift rotation basis, with a 15-minute break and a 30-minute lunch break - both unpaid. This is a full-time position. Please see below the possible shift patterns:

8am - 4pm

9am - 5pm

10am - 6pm

11am - 7pm

12pm - 8pm.

There will be 8 week training period based fully in office with an experienced trainer - you can not have any annual leave or appointments booked within this training period. All candidates will be assessed during training and will also be required to complete legal paperwork in order to access data protected systems. Once you have completed training and have been signed off by the academy training, you will be able to work from home. Candidates are required to have a good WiFi signal with a suitable workstation to enable working from home the foreseeable future. Training and support will continue to be available on an ongoing basis.
