What do I need?

What does a live-in carer do?
Live-in carers live with a client for the duration of their chosen work pattern. You’ll look after one person or at times a couple, following a person centred care plan where you’ll tailor your support to meet your clients’ needs. Duties are likely to include assisting with daily activities, personal care, or support in managing conditions such as dementia, but also include cooking, cleaning and ensuring the smooth running of the household. You could be working on average 8 - 10 hours per day based on your clients’ needs (please note your daily rate will vary depending on the agreed number of daily hours you are working).

We have a number of different rota patterns to choose from ranging from 4 weeks on, 2 weeks off to 10 weeks on, 2 weeks off. Depending on the rota pattern you chose and following a client’s individual care plan, you will generally provide a daily average of between 8 - 10 hours care provision to your client.

About you:
You’ll be someone who’s happy to talk, laugh and enjoy time with our clients, assisting them in their activities and encouraging them to live life to the full.
You might already be working as a live-in carer, or you might have professional experience as a support worker, care assistant in a residential or domiciliary care setting, or you might be a HCA working with the NHS. If you share our passion for quality care, we’d love to hear from you.

We’re looking for the following skills and experience:
- At least 6 months’ professional care experience gained in any care setting

Delighted to be working with an incredible care provider in Aberdeen, hiring for a Care Manager in elderly services. The main purpose of the role is to ensure the standards of the services are met to the needs of each user.

Key Responsibilities:
* Use systems to record and report data to support management purposes and regulations.
* Develop and maintain H&S practices and carrying out risk assessments for the protection of staff members and service users. This includes medication administration and security.
* Monitoring personal development plans for service users to ensure their specific requirements are fully met.
* Follow practice to allow service users to live as independent as possible i.e. social activities, access services and facilities and develop social networks.
* Create and follow procedures to support service users and staff during significant life change or loss.
* Staff management - recruitment of staff, assess performance and identifying areas for improvement, maintain a positive environment with good working relationships, carry out disciplinary and grievance procedures where necessary.
* Maintain good relationships with regulatory bodies such as Care Inspectorate.
* Managing budgets.

Qualification/Experience:
* SVQ 3 in Health & Social Care or equivalent recognised by SSSC.
* Ability to complete SVQ 4 in Health & Social Care if not already achieved.
* Experience in managing a care home or housing support setting.
* Staff management.
* Creating care plans for the elderly.
* Report writing.
* IT skills.

Roles that require PVG Membership

Please note that with effect from 1 April 2023, where a role requires PVG membership, candidates will be required to meet the cost of the PVG membership. The post holder will be responsible for maintaining and improving

frequent engagement with the public, visitors and businesses they
will lead on liaison between and within the Council; economic

commercial and cultural centre in Scotland.

The post holder needs to hold as a minimum:

• Degree in Communications/Marketing/Business Management/Planning or related
discipline
• A Project Management qualification is desirable

The postholder is able to demonstrate:

• Previous experience in a town or city centre management-related role or equivalent
• Strong communication skills at all levels, including networking, formal presentations and report writing
• Experience of developing business and partner networks and contacts
• Awareness of the activities of regional and national town, city centre and place-making
organisations
• Manage complex and strategic partnerships between Elected Members, Board Members and other similar stakeholder groups
• Produce compelling business cases and public-facing Committee and Council reports
• Experience of procurement and contract management with consultants
• Self-starter with the ability to manage a diverse workload and meet deadlines
• Knowledge and experience of the different sectors in the city centre – retail, hospitality
and commercial
• Evidence of working with, and achieving service change, in the business community and public sector
Financial awareness, strong analytical and organisational skills

Your Responsibilities as Part of Our Team


Build rapport and relationships with Customers
