We will be delivering Individual Placement Support (IPS) within communities and neighbourhoods across Surrey. This uses a ‘Place-then-Train’ approach to help individuals with physical disabilities, learning disabilities and those with neurodiversity needs into sustained employment.
Right now we are looking to recruit IPS Employment Specialist Manager to join the team.
As an IPS Employment Specialist Manager, you will lead and inspire a team of up to 10 IPS Employment Specialists, empowering individuals with health conditions, neurodiversity, and other barriers to secure meaningful and sustainable employment. Using the proven Individual Placement and Support (IPS) model, you will oversee the delivery of tailored guidance and mentorship, ensuring your team helps clients overcome barriers, build confidence, and achieve their vocational goals. This rewarding role involves strategic planning, team management, community engagement, and fostering strong relationships with local businesses and stakeholders.

Your Impact:
- Team Leadership: Manage, mentor, and inspire a team of up to 10 IPS Employment Specialists to deliver high-quality services and achieve performance targets.
- Strategic Planning: Develop and implement strategies to enhance the delivery of the IPS model, ensuring alignment with organisational goals and community needs.
- Quality Assurance: Monitor and evaluate service delivery, maintaining high standards and ensuring compliance with relevant regulations and quality procedures.
- Client Support: Oversee personalised assistance provided to clients, ensuring practical support tailored to their employment aspirations.
- Employer Engagement: Build and maintain relationships with local employers to uncover both visible and hidden job opportunities that align with participant preferences.
- Collaborative Networking: Foster strong referral networks with community health teams, job centres, and other stakeholders to enhance participant pathways to employment.
- Workplace Advocacy: Advocate for participants in the workplace, supporting them and their employers through the journey to sustained employment, including the return-to-work process.
- Record Keeping: Ensure meticulous record-keeping and compliance through CRM systems, upholding service excellence.
- Community Engagement: Allocate approximately 80% of your time to working in the community and 20% working from home, ensuring flexible and accessible support to clients.
- Training and Support: Ensure the team's adherence to the IPS approach, providing training and support as needed.
- Performance Analysis: Analyse program performance, identify areas for improvement, and implement strategies to meet and exceed targets and outcomes.
Core Responsibilities:
- Team Support: Oversee and support a team of Employment Specialists managing caseloads of individuals with health conditions, guiding them to secure sustainable employment.
- CRM Monitoring: Monitor the team's interactions and data entry on the CRM system, ensuring timeliness, accuracy, and compliance with all processes, procedures, and fidelity scales.
- Guidance and Coaching: Guide the team in assisting individuals through vocational profiling, action planning, job searching, CV production, and interview preparation.
- Promotion of Services: Promote the service's values and approaches to external partners and within the community, enhancing visibility and engagement.
- In-Work Support: Supervise the delivery of in-work support strategies and employer education to ensure job retention and participant success.
Management & Leadership:
- Performance Reviews: Conduct regular performance reviews, provide constructive feedback, and facilitate professional development opportunities for your team.
- Supportive Environment: Foster a supportive, inclusive, and motivational work environment, encouraging teamwork and collaborative problem-solving.
- Operational Efficiency: Oversee resource allocation, scheduling, and operational logistics to maximize team efficiency and service delivery.
- Professional Representation: Represent the service in professional forums, contributing to the development of best practices in vocational rehabilitation.
Who We Seek:
- Experienced Leader: Proven experience in leading and managing teams, preferably within healthcare, social services, or employment services.
- IPS Expertise: Certification or extensive experience in IPS delivery or similar.
- Outcome-Oriented: Demonstrated ability to meet and exceed targets and outcomes in a managerial role.
- Partnership Development: Strong background in developing partnerships and working collaboratively with various agencies and stakeholders.
- Comprehensive Understanding: Deep understanding of the challenges and employment needs of individuals with health conditions, neurodiversity, and other barriers.
- Regulatory Knowledge: Familiarity with local and national employment laws, benefits systems, and community resources.
- Technical Proficiency: Proficient in IT systems relevant to service delivery and data management.
- Leadership Skills: Excellent leadership, motivational, and team-building skills.
- Advanced Communication: Advanced communication, negotiation, and interpersonal abilities.
- Strategic Planning: Strong strategic planning and problem-solving skills.
- Data Analysis: Ability to analyse data, report on service performance, and implement improvement strategies.
- Empathy and Understanding: Strong empathy and understanding of the needs of individuals with health conditions.
