More about the role:
Overall Purpose of the RoleThe QEII Centre is the largest dedicated conference and exhibition space in Central London and we are looking for an enthusiastic Sales Account Manager with an eye for customer service and a passion for building customer relationships. You will be responsible for the selling of the facilities at QEII Centre to the corporate and agency market, employing sales skills to achieve room hire and catering spend revenue targets. You will be responsible for the research of clients and events to follow up whilst utilizing proactive skills and maintaining high levels of client satisfaction. |
Key Tasks and Responsibilities |
- To professionally and effectively employ sales and account management skills to achieve targeted room hire revenue and catering spend from both core (conference and meetings) and non-core events (all other events including dinners, fashion shows, product launches etc.)
- To act as the first point of contact for clients enquiring about using the Centre; handling incoming enquiries in a friendly, professional and efficient manner according to BDRC guidelines and ensuring that all information is accurately captured on the CRM system.
- To prepare informative bespoke proposals that fully meet the client’s objectives and brief.
- To follow up all enquiries within the required time frames recording the details on the CRM system.
- To conduct engaging, informative show rounds of the venue, selling the full range of services including catering and AV and giving the client confidence that the Centre is the best choice of venue for their event.
- To negotiate within defined parameters where necessary gaining confirmation from the client that they wish to proceed.
- To prepare contracts and all necessary paperwork for the event.
- To arrange and attend a handover meeting to pass the client on to the operational team.
- To undertake proactive research and activity to gain new clients for the Centre.
- To expand and maintain an accurate and current UK client database.
- Represent the QEII Centre at tradeshows and conferences following up all leads within agreed time-scales.
- Advise Director of Sales & Marketing regarding client feedback/comments relating to product content and pricing as well as Centre performance.
- To ensure contracted client events are handed over to Event Management and Operational teams with a comprehensive analysis of client needs, objectives and potential secondary sales opportunities
- Participate in sales team and management team workshops and business management and planning forums and activities.
- Maintain accurate records of all contacts with clients and associated CRM systems.
- Undertake any reasonable duties as specified by the Senior Account Manager or Director of Sales & Marketing.
- To actively upsell each event to maximise profitability and sales
- Forecasting projected sales for each event and updating on a regular basis for weekly forecast meetings
