An exciting, challenging and rewarding opportunity has arisen for a Control Centre Team Leader post to work within the Security Department at Rampton Hospital.
As a Control Centre Team Leader, the post holder must lead a team of staff in the provision of security services within a High secure Hospital environment over 24/7, 365 days per year. Manage the day-to-day operations within the Control Centre and be responsible for all effective and efficient operation of technological security systems covering the entire site which contributes to a safe and secure environment for patients, visitors, contractors, and staff. To implement relevant policies and procedures within the department to ensure compliance with legislation and security requirements.
The post holder will have operational, first- line, management experience. Working within the security department, in conjunction with other managers to promote a positive image of the Hospital by continually developing and maintaining an effective and efficient high-quality service which contributes to the safe and secure functioning of the Hospital in accordance with Trust/Hospital policies and procedures.
The post holder will lead and motivate the team of staff operating the security systems within the Control Room including CCTV, perimeter detection system, radio communications, hospital staff alarm system and dedicated alarm systems.
The post holder will lead and motivate the team of staff to provide safe access and egress, ensuring that security and customer services principles are adhered to.

Co-ordinate a team of staff during a period of duty as directed by Deputy Entry Building Manager, maintaining an overview of daily resource allocation ensuring that staff are deployed effectively.
Ensure that the Hospital’s secure perimeter is maintained by the effective use of the Perimeter Intruder Detection System, electronic gate and door controls, CCTV surveillance. Ensure that regular external and internal security perimeter checks are undertaken, and patrols of Hospital estate carried out and that all checks are recorded.
Support Hospital managers in carrying out the patient dispatch and return process, ensuring that security procedures are carried out correctly and accurately recorded.
Carry out regular audits within the department to ensure that quality standards are being met
Ensure continual monitoring of Authorized patient, vehicle and contractor movement within the Hospital.
Ensure that ongoing CCTV monitoring and surveillance of the hospital site is carried out and that reporting any irregularities or concerns are acted upon in accordance with agreed policies and procedures.
Monitor the location of patients and escorting staff during leave of absence trips.
Maintain up to date photographic images and records of patients for use in emergency situations.
Control Hospital keys, including Master and emergency keys, ensuring that they are securely held and all issues of keys are recorded and restricted to authorized personnel
Maintain daily operations logs including relevant information from each control room workstation/operator’s events register and reception area.
Coordinate the delivery of a contractor escort service to ensure all contractors can work safely within High secure setting. Plan workloads, availability and collate budgetary recharge information.
Coordinate the delivery of the Patient property service.
