We are really excited to advertise this permanent 8b Practitioner Psychologist (Clinical or Counselling) post to lead Bury Secondary Care Psychological Therapies Service (SCPTS). The SCPTS works alongside Community Mental Health Team (CMHT) colleagues and the Complex Emotional and Relational Needs (CERN) team in Bury.

The context of the role:


Community Mental Health Services are going through a process of transformation and there is real opportunity for you to support and be part of delivering the ambitions of 'The Community Mental Health Framework', particularly focusing upon the 'Psychological Therapies for Severe Mental Health Problems' (PT-SMHP) NHS-E paper.

There are five Secondary Care Psychology Services across the Pennine Care footprint, and you will work closely with and be supported by the Secondary Care Psychology pathway lead (Consultant Clinical Psychologist) and your peers across these teams.
The direction of travel is to embed collaborative and relational processes to support, empower and develop your leadership skills and those of your peers in your work as clinical leads and managers.



As a Principal Clinical Psychologist/ Principal Counselling Psychologist, you will be responsible for the provision of specialist expertise with complex and/or challenging cases within the secondary care adult Psychological Therapies Service. You will work with the clinical lead for the adult mental health secondary care pathway and the borough leadership group to ensure robust and effective care for service users who present with complex and/or severe mental health needs.

You will contribute to the development of effective psychological care with the multidisciplinary team. A key component of your role will be to provide consultation, support, and where appropriate, clinical & managerial supervision to other psychological therapy staff.
You will be part of supporting with the Community Transformation programme, embedding new psychological practitioner roles and meeting the ambitions of the 'Psychological Therapies for Severe Mental Health Problems 'PT-SMHP' NHS-E paper.

The roles and responsibilities of this post are in evolution in the context of the nationally-driven changes, and you will have the opportunity to be an important part of a collaborative process of defining and structuring your roles and relationships, with the support of the Secondary Care Psychological Therapies Clinical Lead and your peers in similar roles.

There are five Secondary Care Psychology Services across the Pennine Care footprint,
and you will work closely with and be supported by the Secondary Care Psychology
pathway lead (Consultant Clinical Psychologist) and your peers across these teams.
The direction of travel is to embed collaborative and relational processes to support,
empower and develop your leadership skills and those of your peers in your work as
clinical leads and managers.
What you will do:
Bring clinical leadership to the team to further develop the clinical delivery model.
Provide clinical leadership and supervision to colleagues.
Work as part of an MDT, offering consultation, reflective practice and supervision.
Ensure the provision of trauma-informed care.
Help the secondary care services in Bury to grow as a psychologically healthy system.
About you:
You are a highly skilled and compassionate Psychologist.
Enjoy working as part of the team.
Trained in and experience of offering different therapeutic modalities.
Excellent consultation and communication skills.
Have a desire to support and lead a team through change using a trauma-informed
framework.

As a Principal Clinical Psychologist/ Principal Counselling Psychologist, you will be
responsible for the provision of specialist expertise with complex and/or challenging
cases within the secondary care adult Psychological Therapies Service.
You will work with the clinical lead for the adult mental health secondary care
pathway and the borough leadership group to ensure robust and effective care for
service users who present with complex and/or severe mental health needs.
You will contribute to the development of effective psychological care with the multidisciplinary team. A key component of your role will be to provide consultation,
support, and where appropriate, clinical & managerial supervision to other
psychological therapy staff.
You will be part of supporting with the Community Transformation programme,
embedding new psychological practitioner roles and meeting the ambitions of the
'Psychological Therapies for Severe Mental Health Problems 'PT-SMHP' NHS-E paper.
The roles and responsibilities of this post are in evolution in the context of the
nationally-driven changes, and you will have the opportunity to be an important part
of a collaborative process of defining and structuring your roles and relationships,
with the support of the Secondary Care Psychological Therapies Clinical Lead and
your peers in similar roles.

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic and motivated person with a passion for caring for older people to join Ramsbottom Ward (Bury). The post holder will gain valuable experience and new skills in leadership and staff management within the clinical sphere of older people's services. Supervision will be available to support development in the role.



Ramsbottom Ward is a 10-bed unit caring for older female people with organic illnesses. Ramsbottom Ward offers person centred care, involving where possible the patient in the planning of their care. It is the aim of the staff to get patients back into the community and into their own homes and where this is not possible, to assist in a smooth and dignified transfer into permanent care. It is about making the later years in that person’s life as enjoyable and fulfilling as possible, achieving optimum mental wellbeing for each individual patient.



Expressions of interest are invited for a 9 month secondment, the post will be based on Ramsbottom Ward, at Pennine House at Fairfield General Hospital. It is a full time post (37.5 per week)

The successful candidate will be able to work effectively as a Deputy Clinical Lead/Deputy Ward Manager, have excellent communication skills, welcome a challenge and have a real desire to make a difference to the care we provide to the adult age group inclusive of evolving models of care and modernisation of mental health services.

You will be responsible for the assessment of needs, planning, implementation and evaluation of programmes of care for clients admitted on the ward.

You will also be responsible for the support and supervision of junior members of staff, supporting with audits and quality improvement.

The successful candidate will have first level registration as an RMN/RNMH, have experience of working in a mental health setting and be able to work across the 24 hour shift pattern on a rotational basis.

ABOUT THE DEPUTY MANAGER ROLE
Within your role as the Deputy Care Manager you can really make a difference to our residents’ lives. Here are some of the responsibilities:

Responsible for monitoring standards of care delivered by qualified and unqualified care staff..
Prepare the staff duty rota to ensure appropriate staffing levels at all times.
Responsible for monitoring the wellbeing of each resident, being aware of any change impacting on care and care plans, ensuring that new needs are met, and written records are amended to reflect any variation.
Act as a focal point for contact with residents, their relatives and visitors, as well as health and social care professionals involved in their wellbeing, ensuring that any reasonable requests are acted upon and concerns or complaints are promptly investigated and dealt with appropriately.
Liaise with the Home Manager across the range of operational activity to be able to assume responsibility for managing the Home during the manager’s scheduled and unscheduled absences.
Contribute fully to team working, responding positively to colleagues and action all reasonable work instructions promptly.
