The Role

As Executive Support Officer, you will:

- Support the CEO in the delivery of their role by providing secretarial and administrative support.

- Proactively manage the CEO's diary, identifying and resolving conflicts before they arise.

- Arrange and support at a range of meetings, ensuring that the CEO is adequately prepared and taking minutes as required.

- Act as a first point of contact for the office of the CEO, responding to emails, calls and correspondence appropriately and effectively

- Support the CEO and Senior Leadership Team on designated projects, conducting research and preparatory work.

Patient Care

Senior Specialist Nurses will be able to; Use their expert knowledge and clinical judgement to decide whether to refer patients for investigations and discuss potential diagnoses with members of the wider MDT. Decide on and carry out treatment, which may include advice on the prescribing and de-prescribing of medicines, or referring patients to an appropriate specialist. Work autonomously within a wider health care team and as a lone practitioner. The Oxford Centre for Magnetic Resonance Imaging (OCMR) warmly welcomes and supports new members of staff. We are a friendly and approachable department with a strong sense of team working and high standards of care. OCMR forms part of the Division of Cardiovascular Medicine (CVM) within the Radcliffe Department of Medicine at the University of Oxford and specialises in Magnetic Resonance Imaging of the heart, liver and brain. The department has three MRI scanners; two of which are dedicated to research, a third which is used to support a diagnostic clinical cardiac MRI service for NHS patients from within the Oxford University Foundation Trust and surrounding areas. The post holder will report to the OCMR Lead Radiographer and work closely with the radiography team, as well as medical teams, reception staff, and nursing team, to meet the needs of the clinical MRI service. With training and support, the post holder will develop their skills as a senior HCA to assist with day-to-day activities within the department. Based in OCMR, the post holder will be responsible for planning and carrying out straightforward clinical activities; preparing NHS patients for MRI, carrying out magnet safety checks, cannulation and post procedural care. They will work within their given scope of practice and will follow a designated framework to achieve competency in a number of specified clinical skills. On occasions, they may be required to assist research participants undergoing MRI scans. They will complete mandatory courses as set by the University of Oxford as well as by the Oxford University Hospitals Trust (OUH), with whom the post holder will hold an honorary contract. Previous experience of working as a HCA is essential to the post. We are looking for enthusiastic andexperiencedcandidates to join our inpatient team on the Haematology Ward as a Senior Healthcare Support Worker.

Previous Healthcare Support Worker experience and successful completion of the Care Certificate (or equivalent healthcare qualification) is essential, along with an ability to demonstrate compassion and a commitment to learning new skills.

Applicants should have excellent communication skills, with a caring approach and be a committed team player aiming to establish a pleasant and welcoming atmosphere for patients, visitors and staff. Full induction and training will be provided,
• As a member of the team in this enhanced role you will support and work closely with registered practitioners to deliver a high standard of care to patients, families and their carers in a safe and supportive environment without the need for direct supervision.
• To work as part of the wider team in developing and maintaining
services provided to patients and contribute to the safe, efficient and smooth running of the ward/clinical area or department. This will be undertaken whilst maintaining the dignity and privacy of all patients and respect their right to confidentiality.
• To complete and maintain on an ongoing basis a generic and specific portfolio of clinical competencies and/or Care Certificate as required.
• To be motivated in order to review progress with Manager at regular
intervals through the appraisal process. Understand own level of responsibility, scope of practice and accountability and at all times act within own capabilities.

• Prepare patients, families/carers and the environment for clinical activities supporting and reassuring patients and their families/carers and preparing specific equipment as necessary.
• Monitor closely patients having undergone a clinical activity ensuring their safety, comfort and well –being.
• To assist all patients of all genders with their personal care needs, empowering patients, and/or families/carers and actively encouraging participation. This may involve maintaining hygiene needs
for individuals such as helping patients to wash and dress themselves and assisting with toileting needs, maintaining privacy and dignity at all times.
• To asses and monitor the patient’s skin integrity and to report and document immediately any changes or concerns in their condition.
• To demonstrate clinical competence in order to undertake minor dressings and treatment and as specified in the plan of care and in consultation with the registered practitioner.
• To actively encourage all patients, families/carers to share the responsibility for maintenance of their health and to promote healthy living where appropriate and identified as part of the care plan.
• Assist patients to mobilise safely taking account of developmental/physical needs, using equipment and techniques as prescribed and recorded in plan of care and contribute to the falls and moving and handling risk assessment.
• Assist in the care of a patient requiring end of life care in accordance within their spiritual and cultural needs.
• Assist as appropriate in the support of families/carers of patients receiving end of life care.
• Recognise when a patient’s condition changes and seek advice and expertise from registered practitioners in accordance with Trust policy.

SEU is an emergency surgical department based at the John Radcliffe Hospital in Oxford. We care for a wide variety of patients which will provide you with the opportunity to build a range of skills and knowledge upon which to construct your health career.

We are a diverse and motivated team seeking enthusiastic personalities and motivated new colleagues. You will be working alongside our Registered Nurses, which gives you the opportunity to learn and understand different roles and duties within our multidisciplinary team. Our friendly team will support and help you to learn and adapt in your new ward environment.

About the role

As a Senior Care Assistant at MHA you will lead and inspire a team of committed care assistants to provide the highest quality of care to our residents enabling them to live later life well. As a Senior Care Assistant, you will be passionate about caring for older people, have previous care experience and, as a minimum, hold an NVQ level 2 or equivalent in health and social care and be willing to complete level 3. In addition, you will have experience leading, coaching and motivating a team to deliver high quality care.

You will have a kind, warm and caring nature and be able to work well as part of a team but also use your own initiative. Patience, communication and listening skills are equally important. Maintaining accurate records, time management and prioritising tasks will also be strengths. About You


NVQ Level 3 in health and social care desirable
Be well-organised, IT literate and adept at allocating and delegating work appropriately
Proven ability to lead and supervise others
A good understanding of care planning processes
Be experienced in or happy to undertake training on administering medication
Above all, have a natural ability to help make the lives of others more fulfilling
