Working as a Regional Bank Senior Care Assistant you will support the running of the overall care team and work with others across the shift to ensure continuity of services to our residents. As a Regional Bank Senior Care Assistant, you will work across a number of care homes, which is to cover absence, holiday and maternity leave. You will be expected to work at different homes, which can span up to a 30 miles radius.

As a Regional Bank Senior Care Assistant you will be:

-Responsible for delivering a high quality of care and providing support and guidance to the care team and leading by example

Clinical: The post holder will take part in a full shift rota, along with other trainees, which provides 24-hour care for patients including weekends and night shifts. This includes: Immediate responsibility for care of up to 22 critical care patients Responsible for the admission and discharge of patients Liaising with other departments and specialties as appropriate Maintaining inpatient records ordering routine and emergency investigations and receiving and reviewing their results Managing routine and unexpected problems on the critical care unit as they arise reviewing and admitting new admissions and referrals from both the emergency department and wards. Transfer of patients as appropriate compliance with trust and departmental protocols and guidelines As the post holder will be responsible for the assessment and management of critically ill patients with indirect supervision, significant prior experience in intensive care medicine is essential including advanced airway skills and excellent written and spoken English. These posts are at registrar level, and successful candidates will be expected to have completed foundation training, have 2 years post foundation experience in acute specialties and to be competent to work with indirect supervision within the intensive care unit. Prior experience in intensive care is required. Evidence of suitable advanced airways skills is also required.

It also includes management of referrals from other departments within the hospital, including the Medical Admissions Units and the Emergency Department and providing medical support for the nursing outreach service. Supervision and teaching of more junior Critical Care residents is an important part of this post.

The posts are intended to provide experience in adult critical care medicine including intensive care training equivalent to that recommended by the Faculty of Intensive Care Medicine.

About The Role

As a Senior Care Assistant at HC One, Kindness will be at the core of everything you do. It touches upon every aspect of our Dementia, Nursing, Residential and Specialist care homes. You will get to know our residents and their families – helping to ensure we deliver truly personalised care plans. Leading a team of Care Assistants, you will be responsible for maintaining the highest standards of care and you’ll be a real influence on the rest of the team. Whether you are showing someone how to use a walking frame, helping someone at the end of their life to eat a meal or talking to a resident’s family on the phone, you’ll do so with a sense of kindness, above anything else. Assisting the Registered Nurse and Care Manager, you will be involved in providing essential physical and mental stimulation through a range of social and recreational activities, as well as administering medication.

One of your key responsibilities as Senior Care Assistant is to maintain accurate records of the job you do and build strong relationships with the rest of your team.

About You
Ideally, you’ll have an S/NVQ 2 or 3 Diploma in Health & Social Care, a background in person centered care planning and knowledge of caring for people with dementia. What’s essential, though, is your brilliant positive energy and natural ability to get along with people. You’ll know what good record keeping looks like and be able to manage your time effectively. And, whenever you communicate with a resident or co-worker, you’ll be truly considerate and kind.

Safeguarding is everyone’s responsibility and therefore it is important that you are able to recognise the signs which may indicate possible abuse, harm or neglect in its different forms and know what to do if there are any concerns. All colleagues are required to attend safeguarding training appropriate to their role and to undertake additional training in associated areas. You also have the ability to seek appropriate advice and report concerns, including escalation if action is not taken.

To support the “Support 2 Independence Manager” in the day to day management of the supported accommodation living provision for care experienced and care leavers based at either Burlington Close, Claremont Terrace, Cliffe Park or Elwin Terrace. To lead the staff team providing support to young people accessing the Next Steps Service and living at Claremont Terrace Cliffe Park, Burlington Close and Elwin, including providing outreach support.

Key Responsibilities:
Day to day running of the supported accommodation provision. To liaise with service users, supervise colleagues, undertake service user support plans. To communicate/liaise with Support 2 Independence Manager and /or deputy manager on a regular basis.

Hennel Lane is a 5-bed home in a quiet residential street on Walton Park in Preston! We provide support for young adults with learning disabilities and physical disabilities to live the life they love! The individuals we support here at Hennel Lane love spending time in the garden when their families come to visit. They love all things arts and crafts and have been known to make their own bird feeders and sit and watch the birds enjoy! They love baking and making ginger bread houses in the winter months on the run up to Christmas! They celebrate each other’s birthdays with parties and lots of food and of course cake! A few of the individuals we support here at Hennel Lane have recently been on holiday, supported by staff and had the most amazing time!

Ashleigh House is a 26-bed residential care home in Darlington supporting adults with learning disabilities, autism, physical disabilities, mental health issues and complex care needs to live their best life! We support individuals to part take in group BBQ’s, weekly bingo and quiz nights! We also love organising coffee mornings and socialising.
