About the Role

Care Workers at Level 1 implement Care Plans and report any concerns or reasons care plans cannot be followed, as well as monitoring care and welfare of citizens, recording accurate information on running records, communication books, care plans monitoring charts (e.g. weight monitoring, falls, etc.) and other written and electronic communications as required.

Care Workers at Level 1 are also expected to work and cooperate with other professionals, as well as citizens and their meaningful others, to ensure a shared approach to care and support and continuity of care and treatment.

This role will predominantly be working on a one to one basis, specifically with citizens who have learning disabilities, who may present challenging behaviours.

About You

The ideal candidate will have:

· Implementation of Care Plans and contribution to running records and daily monitoring forms;

· Ability to encourage and support citizens to achieve and/or maintain maximum independence, and to maintain contact with friends, family and community;

· Knowledge and understanding of the rights, needs and feelings of vulnerable adults from diverse social and cultural backgrounds;

· Ability to follow all instructions, policies, procedures and guideline

- A DBS enhanced check for a regulated activity is required for this post.

You will be part of a wider team of nursing staff, rotating through the department, including the outpatient clinic area, day case treatment area, apheresis area, and assisting with bone marrow aspirate procedures. The post will be based at the City Campus. The unit is open 8am-8pm Monday to Friday and Saturday 8am -4pm. Work as a member of the team providing a high standard of care to patients and their carers.

Deliver high quality holistic care to patients with the indirect supervision of a registered nurse.

Deliver efficient and effective care and communication between the multidisciplinary team, the patient, relatives and carers.

Following appropriate training, undertake venepuncture, cannulation, venesection, PICC line care and ECG recording.

Work within the apheresis department learning how to load kits, take blood samples and administration duties

Assist with Bone Marrow Aspirate procedures.

We are looking for an experienced care assistant to work weekdays in a day service within the Worksop area which offers services for adults who require close support and supervision.

The service offers a range of stimulating activities designed to meet the individual service users support need while providing new experiences in a safe environment.

You will be responsible for engaging the service users in the activities and supporting them with their needs while encouraging a degree of independence where possible.

Please note that this role does involve the use of hoists and regular moving and handling duties. Some of the service users may also display behaviours which may challenge.
