Granton Early Years is a large, busy setting, with capacity for 64 children at any one time, attending various patterns of attendance between 8am and 6pm, 52 weeks per year. We work in partnership with our families to promote children’s learning and development; helping to close the attainment gap and ensure equity for all. As we continue to develop our service, our setting is a very natural environment with outdoor spaces that back onto the local Community Garden, with the Community Centre situated next door. We encourage our team to strive for high standards with support and development opportunities available at all levels.

We are recruiting an Early Years Assistant to join our team on a fixed term basis until end June 2025. The successful candidate will be passionate to work alongside the Early Years Practitioners in supporting children to lead their own learning to be, confident, capable individuals and helping them to achieve their full potential.

This is a sessional position and you will be required to work 18.5 hours per week over 5 days as follows:

Monday - 3.5 hours, Tuesday - Friday 3 hours each day

Early Years Assistants are required to be registered with SSSC within 3 months of starting in the role and gain a SVQ level 2 qualification within 5 years.

Lifelong Learning Library Adviser
Direct Services/Mobile Library Service (Based at Oxgangs Library)

Salary: £25,322 - £27,727
Hours: 36 per week (Monday to Friday only but will require some evening working)

No Saturday Working.

Direct Services/ Mobile Library Team is based at Oxgangs Library. The Mobile Library team deliver library services out with library locations e.g. to schools, customers' homes, care homes and Assisted Living Accommodation, postholders must be able to work in a variety of non-library environments and support customers with additional needs.

This role involves a degree of continual manual handing of boxes and trolley’s where we take boxes and trolleys of books into schools and Care Homes, loading theses on and off vehicles. We do this in all weather conditions – appropriate PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) will be supplied. The job also involves being able to work at low heights and climbing in and out of vehicle cabs.

A Full Driving Licence is required: The successful candidate will be required to drive the Mobile Library Vehicles - up to 7.5 tonne LGV's, this requires a C or C1 on your licence. If you do not have a C or C1 on your licence successful permanent appointments will be given professional driver training to the required standard.

These posts will support the Adult Education Programmes across the City of Edinburgh. There is a particular need to recruit staff to support programmes in the outskirts of Edinburgh such as South Queensferry , Ratho and Currie as well as the city centre. Tasks include meeting and greeting students attending Adult Education courses, directing them to the rooms and undertaking basic admin tasks such as photocopying for tutors.

This advert is for casual tertiary staff who are able to travel as required to different venues where needed. The courses delivered take place morning, afternoon, evening and weekends and are typically 2 hours in duration.

We are looking for a PSA to join the team at Clovenstone Primary School in our Enhanced Support Base.

The ESB is a specialised provision which is attended by children who have a diagnosis of autism and other complex needs. We have two classes with eight pupils in each, supported by two class teachers, two EYPs and two Pupil Support Assistants. The successful candidate will work in both classes. Justice Social Worker – Cross roads Team
Grindlay Street Court Social Work Centre

Salary: £37,626 - £44,257
Hours: Various as below:

2 posts - 36 hours per week & 21.5 hours per week

Edinburgh Justice Services are committed to providing high quality services and ensuring a compassionate approach to people who use our services, and to supporting staff wellbeing. An exciting opportunity has arisen for 2 Social Workers with a particular interest in Trauma Informed practice, Early Intervention and Groupwork to join the Crossroads service for men. Crossroads delivers a range of Justice interventions such as Diversion from Prosecution, Structured Deferred Sentences and Community Payback Orders. The overall remit of the team is to deliver a service that is responsive to the risks and needs of men affected by complex trauma.

Key responsibilities include (but are not limited to):

• Assessment and report writing

• Supervising and responding to people in the community and in custody

• Contributing to multi agency risk and safety planning and management

• Development and delivery of groupwork programmes such as Survive and Thrive

Candidates should demonstrate excellent communication and interpersonal skills, an understanding of National Outcomes and Standards and public protection, be willing to work in a dynamic environment and to contribute to an inclusive culture that values and respects diversity and lived experience.

Candidates will have a degree in Social Work and be registered, or eligible to register, with the SSSC.

This post is regulated work with children and/or protected adults under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007. The preferred candidate will be required to join the PVG Scheme or undergo a PVG Scheme update check.
