The Opportunity

As an Administration Officer, you will play a vital role in delivering our customer-focused library service that genuinely makes a difference to our residents.

Based at our offices in Chichester, you will provide administrative support for the Library Service, ensuring efficient processes are undertaken centrally on behalf of all library teams.

Job Description

To assist social workers in assessing, safeguarding, supporting and advocating for vulnerable children. To contribute to
the delivery of services that enable the best outcome for children, young people and their families/carers

Requirements

• Have a genuine passion towards the well fare of children
• Have minimum 1 year of professional experience working alongside children (Either as support worker or other)
• Must be a driver - Essential

Your responsibilities

• Provide an immediate response to information or situations concerning risk to vulnerable children.
• Undertake direct work with families to improve their quality of life.
• Advocate on behalf of children, young people and their families/carers to obtain best outcomes.
• Gather and share information from children, young people and their families/carers with all relevant parties, taking any action as agreed.
• Promote children, young people and their families/carer's cultural needs and challenges discrimination and racism.
• Ensure that social work care planning for children is carried out by working with parents and other professionals, in family homes or elsewhere with a range of therapeutic interventions.
• Be accountable for that quality of your work and take responsibility for maintaining and improving your knowledge and skills.
• Meet relevant standards of practice and working in a lawful, safe and effective way.
• Maintain clear and accurate records as required by procedures established for your work.
• Inform your employer or the appropriate authority about any personal difficulties that might affect your ability to do your job competently and safely.
• Seek assistance from your employer or the appropriate authority if you do not feel able or adequately prepared to carry out any aspect of your work or you are not sure about how to proceed in a work matter.
• Work openly and cooperatively with colleagues and treat them with respect.
• Recognise that you remain responsible for the work that you have delegated to others.
• Recognise and respecting the roles and expertise of workers from other agencies and working in a partnership with them.
• Presenting evidence in different forums or information as required.
• To participate in the operation of the Trust's Appraisal Scheme.
• It is your responsibility to carry out your duties in line with the Trust's policy on equality and be sensitive and caring to the needs of the disadvantaged, promoting a positive approach to a harmonious working environment. You should act as an exemplar on these issues and should identify and monitor training for yourself and any employees for whom you are responsible, in line with this policy and the Equalities Act 2010.
