The Role:
As a support worker you will be highly involved in personal care, this is supporting our young people with all aspects of personal hygiene including toileting, dressing and maintain their personal appearance.
As well as supporting with their medical needs you will also get involved in helping with the young adults therapies such as rebound therapy or hydrotherapy in our newly renovated pool. We also have sensory gardens, a skills centre, forestry school and rooms dedicated to art, music and much more.
Independence is prompted wherever is possible, the adults will often run their own days with what they like to do, so you could be helping make things in the sites enterprise scheme, going on shopping trips, taking part in forestry lessons or even going to the pub!!

Exciting opportunities have become available for Learning Support Assistants to join our highly successful Additional Learning Support team. The team provides a range of support for students with a wide range of learning difficulties and/or disabilities to enable them to access the educational opportunities offered by the College.
The roles are based at our New Bedford Road and Enterprise Way campuses based in Luton. Your focus will be supporting learners in the classroom and assisting teaching staff in a range of practical and theory-based lessons to meet the needs of students. You will also spend some time supporting learners in out of class support sessions, working on individualised targets and helping to development independent study skills.
A pro-active and resourceful, learner-focused approach is required as you will be involved in creating individual support strategies plans, working collaboratively with curriculum-based colleagues.

This is a waking night position; so in the quiet periods you will also be expected to get involved in some light housekeeping duties (such as loading the dishwasher, laundry and keeping the environment tidy).
In the morning you’ll then assist with supporting our young adults to get up, washed and dressed, ready for the day.
The key to this role will be your ability to communicate effectively, build trusting relationships and provide the support required to enable our young adults to become more autonomous.Skills and Qualifications

The Role:
As a support worker you will be highly involved in personal care, this is supporting our young people with all aspects of personal hygiene including toileting, dressing and maintain their personal appearance.
As well as supporting with their medical needs you will also get involved in helping with the young adults therapies such as rebound therapy or hydrotherapy in our newly renovated pool. We also have sensory gardens, a skills centre, forestry school and rooms dedicated to art, music and much more.
Independence is prompted wherever is possible, the adults will often run their own days with what they like to do, so you could be helping make things in the sites enterprise scheme, going on shopping trips, taking part in forestry lessons or even going to the pub!!
