The Lead AMSA is responsible for the coordination of AMSA assignments and workflow found in the Care in the Community (CITC) unit. The Lead assists the unit with complex and non-standard procedures, including clinical flow processes related to access to care across multiple clinics, specialties, and/or community resources. Incumbent intervenes to resolve difficult problems and diffuses potential dissatisfaction with VA services. Serves as technical advisor and liaison with contacts at all levels. • The incumbent carries out required performance of this position as transportation program support assistant Guest Relations Program to the Office of Veteran Experience. The services are designed to respond to customer immediate needs including navigation, direction, and information assistance.
• As a key challenge of patients, navigating the campus will be a primary focus along with providing a positive first impression. For those who do not know how to access medical center programs and/or services, personal assistance will be provided by the staff. The incumbent serves as the initial, as well as the final point of contact for guests entering and leaving the facility and is a key influence toward patient/public perception. In this role, the incumbent performs these responsibilities using skills that will foster a culture of care at the VA facility. The incumbent is assigned to the Office of Veteran Experience and Employee Engagement.

The Chief of SPS plays a leadership role in ongoing systematic evaluation and improvement of quality and effectiveness of SPS program outcomes. The incumbent provides health system-wide leadership for critical and semi-critical RMD, including sterile storage, reprocessing, standard operating procedures (SOP), competency assessment, selection, operation, and maintenance of reprocessing equipment, staff education program for RMDs, and quality management of SPS. The incumbent is responsible for assessing, monitoring, developing, and implementing corrective action plans for instrument processing, decontamination, sterilization, storage, biological monitoring, and high-level disinfection monitoring through an SPS Quality Management System. The specific patient population to whom direct care is provided includes adults with a variety of different conditions. The incumbent must also be able to direct non professional staff's lifting, moving, and/or transferring of patients, and use equipment to provide patient care which usually involves lifting and/or pushing the equipment. The RN is responsible for the storage, proper cleaning techniques, and use of reusable medical equipment (RME). He/She is responsible for carrying out proper procedures for caring for patients in an isolation environment by following proper infection control procedures. Communicates regularly with nurse managers, physicians, nursing supervisors, charge nurses, transfer coordinators, allied healthcare staff, healthcare technicians, Pharmacy, and the business office.

The RN's role will include, but is not limited to the following duties:

• Establishing nursing diagnoses.
• Providing health education and procedural teaching to patients and significant others.
• Administering and evaluating pharmacological and other therapeutic treatment regimens.
• Administering medicine
• Administering Injections - Vaccines etc.
• Establishing priorities and making ethically-sound decisions to ensure safe patient care.
• Assisting the physicians during diagnostic and therapeutic procedures to promote optimal patient outcomes by team collaboration.
• Responding to emergency situations to promote optimal patient outcomes by recognizing changes in patients' health status.
• Performing diagnostic studies within the scope of nursing practice as ordered by the physician.
• Documenting patient data to ensure continuity in the provision and coordination of patient care.
• Collaborating with other health care professionals.
• Communicating with veterans ad family members regarding veteran's care.
• May be responsible for charge nurse duties
• Managing follow-up care.
• Acting as resource to others.
• Participating in continuing educational activities, achieving/maintaining certification.
• Possess knowledge of unit level performance measures and participates in quality improvement monitoring
• Additional duties as assigned

The incumbent performs duties related to the receipt, intake, and indexing of health and administrative information. Major duties include, but are not limited to:

• Assµring coverage of all areas of responsibility
• Conducting ongoing reviews to ensure quality of work
• Ensuring accurate and timely scheduling of appointments
• Providing guidance to employees to include changes in policies and procedures
• Distributing and balancing workload
• Creating and maintaining employee work schedules
• Orienting and providing on-the-job training for new and current employees
• Ensuring all training requirements are met
• Organizing the work structure of his/her assigned areas
• Acting as liaison between MSA and other employees in order to resolve day to day conflicts.
