About us

This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a brand-new Adolescent Service that is being created in Surrey. This new service will bring together a range services for young people including those who go missing, are involved in gang culture and are vulnerable to exploitation, including criminal and sexual exploitation. Our team includes Social Workers and Adolescent Practitioners who are focussed on achieving positive outcomes for young people. About the role

We are looking for enthusiastic people who want to be part of the journey to help shape services in Surrey for adolescents. You will have support from a range of teams in a central hub to compliment the work that you do. This includes Youth Justice, Missing, Edge of Care and Rapid Response, Intervention Support, Risk and Intelligence and Youth Offer. As part of the latter phase of the safeguarding adolescents model, partnership colleagues from Education, Health, Police and other agencies will join the hubs as part of the commitment towards adolescents services in Surrey.

We are looking for skilled and passionate adolescent workers who are experienced at working with young people and have the confidence and emotional intelligence to engage others.

About the Team The Safer Travel Team are part of the wider Road Safety and Sustainable Schools Travel Team. We are a small team but committed, professional and outcome driven! The aim of the Road Safety and Schools Sustainable Travel Team is to reduce road casualties, reduce anti-social driving and promote more walking and cycling. This will be achieved through a variety of measures including highway safety engineering and infrastructure improvements, working with the police on the enforcement of road traffic law (particularly using safety cameras), and education, training and promotional campaigns to improve pedestrian and cycling skills and improved road user behaviour. The provision of pedestrian (walking) and cycle training and a large part of the promotion of active travel is via schools. The Safer Travel Team is integral to the promotion of active and sustainable travel through the production of school travel plans. About the Role

The Customer Service team in the Highway Infrastructure and Planning group provide excellent customer service in order to meet the demands of over 80,000 customer queries per year and are responsible for ensuring the effective management, maintenance and improvement of all highway assets.

As a Customer Service Officer within a team of 10, you will be responding to a high volume and wide range of complex enquiries regarding issues on the highway. This includes responding to formal complaints and freedom of information requests which requires the ability to investigate, collate and prepare responses. Contacts with customers are mainly written with occasional calls that have been escalated from our contact centre. About the Team

Surrey County Council's countywide Fostering Service supports foster carers living throughout the county (and occasionally beyond the Surrey borders), to look after Surrey's Looked After Children. We are a creative and compassionate service, dedicated to supporting Surrey's most vulnerable children and young people. Our goal is to ensure the best possible outcomes for every child in our care, ensuring no one is left behind.

We provide essential, practical and emotional support to children, Foster Carers and the Fostering Service, undertaking activities in and out of the fostering home in a flexible and restorative way. Children cared for by Surrey Foster Carers may have experienced significant trauma and may have additional vulnerabilities. They will need a high level of compassion, combined with consistent patience and understanding. Foster Carers may require additional assistance in order to meet children's needs or to maintain their own resilience.

About the Role

As an essential person in the professional network around fostering households, you will respond with patience, calmness and be responsive and attuned to everyone's needs. You will work closely with the child's Social Worker and the Fostering service (and other services as appropriate) to ensure coordination of care and support.

In this role there will be some demand for working into an evening or over a weekend on a duty system and with prior notice. You will work in foster carers homes and be primarily based in either our office in Woking or Reigate although you may, from time to time, be asked to assist in other areas.

Areas of support we provide include:

Enhanced Time-limited Foster Care Support: Where it is identified that help is needed on a time-limited basis to undertake specific support to help stabilise the arrangement for a child and their carer.
Mockingbird Home Hubs Liaison: Assist the Mockingbird Hub Home carers in coordinating activities, short breaks care, constellation meetings and training, and will take a lead on communications in the constellation
Parent and Child Foster Care Support: Foster Carers undertaking parent and child care may require help with care of children, support to the parent or to undertake specific assessment or parenting work

About the Role
As a Senior Project Officer, you will provide project management and administrative support for a multi-disciplinary team, such as scheduling meetings, minute taking, tracking actions and production of reports on the project. About the Team

The Children with Disabilities Outreach Service is countywide and our aim is to provide a quality assured service as part of the child's care plan, with the overall mission of improving outcomes for disabled children in Surrey. We are now looking to develop our team, predominantly across the West of Surrey and have introduced this senior role to ensure we are able to meet current demand and level of complexity of referrals to our service.

As a service we have significant expertise in supporting children and young people with complex needs, including autistic spectrum conditions, behaviour that challenges, profound and multiple learning disabilities and associated complex health needs. About the Team

It is an exciting time for childcare and early education with the biggest ever expansion of funded childcare starting from April 2024, and with that comes challenges and opportunities. The team works collaboratively with providers, schools, communities and partners to support the sufficiency and sustainability of the early education and childcare sector in Surrey.

The Early Years Commissioning Team provide business advice to our local early years providers to enable them to offer the best quality childcare and education to the County's youngest children, whilst remaining financially sustainable.

About the Role

A typical day for an Early Years Commissioning Support Officer might involve managing our team inbox and forwarding queries to officers covering that area of the county. The types of queries might include providers looking for support in opening a new nursery in the area - you might have to signpost them to where they can find relevant information on our web pages and link them in with your colleagues covering their area to follow up.

You'll also hear from parents who would like support and will need to have some understanding of funded early education and where parents can find more information on what they are entitled to.

We are looking for four individuals who are seeking a role that will allow them to help make a difference to vulnerable adults living in Supported Living accommodation in Walton On Thames. About the Role At Rodney Place we have a very supportive and friendly team and we are looking for individuals who are seeking a role that will allow them to help make a difference to vulnerable adults living in Supported Living accommodation in Walton On Thames. We support people with daily living tasks and personal care, and help enable access to leisure pursuits, education, skills development, and social networks within the local community, using a person-centred approach. As a Support Worker your main responsibility will be working with and supporting Adults with learning difficulties to create positive outcomes and promote independence. You will undertake direct practical interactions with service users; including cooking, personal care and engaging with the wider community. For those residents you are supporting, you will also engage planning, implementation and delivery of care plans. Aside from direct support for our residents, you will also have a the responsibility of organising shifts and communicating with colleagues to plan and coordinate activities. You will also have the duty of working in partnership with other agencies, creating reports and attending and contributing to reviews as required. You will receive Full Induction Training (including mandatory training), as well as the opportunity to undertake further Personal Skills Training under regular staff supervision. Shortlisting Criteria You don't need any formal qualifications to apply for Support Worker positions; you simply need to have the right qualities:

• Understanding of the sensitivity to the needs of people with learning disabilities.
• A willingness to encourage and support people with learning disabilities to access activities and facilities in the community.
• Respect for the cultures and beliefs of the people we support.
• The resilience and emotional intelligence to handle challenging situations. Every day is different and can throw up its own challenges and pressures. You need to be adaptable but able to follow guidelines with a consistent, person centred approach.
• A flexible attitude, both to the level of care required by the people we support as well as the time requirements of the role.
